also any ideas on the opposite way round will b good too please

My boys bought their new brother a cuddly each. They chose the one they wanted to give and still to this day (5 years later) one of them became his favourite cuddly and he has to have it at bedtime.

I am going to do the same with this baby, nearer the time I'll take them shopping to choose a cuddly for her.

As for a gift from baby, I haven't a clue sorry.

we're getting Adam a kitchen from the new baby. haven't thought about getting him to choose something for him to give his little brother, my inclination is that it wouldn't work, he only turned 2 a month ago and he is very much in the stage of thinking everything belongs to him. I think he'd be really upset if we chose a toy or something and he didn't get it to play with right away, and I don't know if he'd understand "this is baby's, this is Adam's". I might try something small but not have him choose it in advance. apparently this was a success when my niece was born (my nephew is 22 months older).

I am thinking about getting my 3 year old to build a bear for the baby, its something he can be a bit more involved in then. He is always pointing out things he likes on tv so should be able to get him a present from baby easy enough.

Im just buying a present for my 3yr old from the baby ..... I asked him if there was anything he would like his new little sister to buy him and he replied with a "roary the racing car garage" so weve got him that xx

Amelie will prob get a new baby from her baby brother :) Once hes born we'll prob go into town into buildabear and let amelie pick a bear for and from him too.

My son is almost three, and I let him pick out what he wanted to by for the new baby (he picked a small bunny stuffed animal and a little car toy).
As for a present from baby to big brother, we got him a few things. First, for the hospital (since here in the US he will be with us in our room for a lot of the time), we got a toy that I know he will play with for hours. (A Thomas take-n-play set and a couple new trains), and for home we got him a grab bag of crafts and activities (watercolors, playdough sets, puzzles, a few small books, etc). These will be spaced out for the first week or two).

My daughter has chosen the baby a teddy already, and I will get something from the baby for her that she has wanted or liked a while like a cuddly cat toy.
xx

I got them a bear from the bear factory each to give each other. So cute xx

My son is 6 and i wanted to get him something from the baby that he could keep for a long time. We've decided on a Mamod Steam Traction Engine. It needs adult supervision to make it work, but it has a steering rod for my son to use too. The vast majority of the time, it'll be in his room on display in pride of place, and will grow with him hopefully. He's obsessed with vintage vehicles and vehicles generally, so he's going to wet himself when baby arrives with this (but better not be until Tuesday lol!)!

We have got our toddler a baby pushchair and new toy doll, one that can go in the bath so that she can do things like mummy is doing with the new baby! She seems to love pushing around toy dolls at playgroup and I'm hoping that she will enjoy pretending to put on a nappy and pretend giving it a bottle will help when I'm doing those things! I chose a teddy for her to give the baby and we wrapped it up together talking about how she can bring it to the hospital when she comes, she is only 20 months and although she knows there is a baby in mummy's tummy I'm not sure how much she really understands!
I have also got some new paints/ crayons and play dough toys put away to bring out after baby arrives to help keep her busy on those rubbish days I can't face leaving the house!
