So at our last ultrasound our doctor told us we're having a girl. The problem is that I don't really have any girl names that I really love, or stick out to me. My DS' name is Liam and we have an Irish last name. So it doesn't need to be Irish necessarily but I guess something that would kind of go well together. There are a few girls names we like, I just wanted to get some thoughts.

The first name we liked was Paige. However, our last name is 1 syllable, so I am not sure if a 1 syllable first name would sound silly with this.

The second name we liked was Reagan. Although I am not sure if this is a name that she would get teased over? There was a US president in the 80s but not sure if people would bring that up.

Thoughts or other suggestions? Thanks!

I like both your choices.

Seren is nice too.

My friend has Paige has first name and one syllable last name sounds fine to me x

Orla
Kiera
Cara
Nancy

None Irish sounding;
Francesca
Ada

Reagan, always liked that :) I have a 10 year old called Franklin, another U.S. president, but nobody has ever mentioned that association xx

Ps: would you pronounce it Ree-gan or Ray-gan? If the latter then maybe spell it Raegan?

Rhiannon?
I love Paige. Don't really have an opinion of one syllable names...

I just delivered a Reagan a couple weeks ago. I've never heard anyone associating the name with the president. Even if they did, there's really nothing negative (no scandal) with that president. I think you're fine.

Paige is a lovely name. I know Reagan is a girls name but it reminds me of Ronald Reagan so sounds kind of masculine to me but it's still a nice name so if you like it I say go for it!

Here are a few other suggestions

Irish connection:
Alannah
Caitlin
Cara
Ciara
Darcy
Ida
Iona
Kyla
Nola
Nora
Roisin
Saoirse
Teagan

Other:
Aurora
Emma
Molly

Sophia
Cora
Riley
Ava

Love the name Reagan! It is unique. We are going with Zoey Rae for a girl or Gavin Leo for a boy. Finding out the sex is 2 weeks!

Reagan name is good, I have some more Irish girl names in my mind, just have a check on it:
Aifric
Rehena
Renana
Rishona
Roksana
Rominah

I think below link for Irish girls names would be helpful to find more suggestions for your girl baby:

I've taught a child called Reagan and have a cousin called regan and never have I associated then with the president so I wouldn't worry about that. I personally prefer Paige though, its one of my short list too

I wouldn't worry about Reagan - I think we're far enough from he 80's! I like it, Paige is also very sweet.
