Ok so we have a boy's name picked. Last time I was pregnant it didnt work out and I was dead set on using Makenzie for a girl, but this time I'm not feeling it. So I came up with some new ones but I don't love them, maybe they will grow on me. Just wanting a little help I guess.

Mika is Japanese and pronounced (meekah) We also like a couple of Russian names, we just like the ring to them.

LOVE, lovvvve, love the name Adalyn! You could even shorten that to Addie. SO cute!

Thank you! I am really torn between all these names. Guess I shouldn't worry too much till we find out the sex.

That's so cool never met a fellow WV on here :)

Leaving the poll open for giggles but I think we've settled on Adalyn. :)

I LOVE Adalyn nn Addie. theres a little girl at my daycare with that name! i had never heard it before that i think because the name Addison kinda took over. haha. which is also a cute name.

Oh, you've already chosen. I voted for Anja, it's unusual and pretty, but not trendy and made-up like Adalynn. I just worry it'll date terribly (not trying to put you off - just my own hang up about made-up names!). I do really love the name Ada though.

Best of luck!

I've actually heard some other people saying Adalyn is a made-up name, which even if it was true I don't see how that would take away from a name since they are all made up at some point or other? My husband thinks that most kids don't even know what their name means so it doesn't matter to us.

Here is the meaning:
Adalyn meaning and name origin

Adalyn \a-dal-
yn, ad(a)-lyn\ as a girl's name is a variant of Adelaide (Old German) and Adeline (Old German), and the meaning of Adalyn is "noble kind".

I really wanted to use Adelaide but hubby just does not like it. I was thinking of how names come to be changed based on the region you're in and the dialect of language, and that could be how a name like this could come about. I know here in WV we don't stress certain words with the right enunciations, and that could be what happened with Adeline.. get a couple people pronouncing it differently and it's a different name. Kind of like our last name, no one can pronounce it but it came from THE name that people pronounce our name AS. If it loses its popularity one day then at least our babe will have a unique name :)
