Giving Birth On All Fours????

I tried it, but the most comfortable position for me was on my back with legs in stirrups (the one position i didn't want to be in), it was easier for me to push and I was more comfortable being able to see the midwife and my OH.
ETA: My labour was only 5 hours long and I was only at the hospital 30 mins before I started pushing.

I gave birth to my youngest standing up over the bed - we had only just arrived at the hosp so only had time to get trousers off and then he was out!!

My daughter was born while i was on my knees in the pool leaning over the edge.

Now I cant imagine giving birth on my back. I also couldnt imagine squatting. It hurts my thighs enough now and i feel like my womb might fall out! Very horrible, heavy feeling down there. All fours sounds good but not sure i want my piles etc to be shown to the world. I'll be much happier standing or kneeling but as i may need an induction im not sure either wll be possible :(

I'm likely to be induced and baby will need constant monitoring (due to GD) but I have been told I will still be able to kneel, get on all fours, lean over the bed and sit on the birthing ball. I just won't be able to walk around or use the pool.

Oh thats good to know!! I had visions of being strapped to a bed and unable to move :(
I may be induced due to polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid). Baby is happy floating around so wont engage and there is a risk of cord prolapse if my waters gush out. So until they break I dont know how much movement ill have :( Got a scan et week so fingers x'd fluid levels are back to normal. Gutted I cant have a homebirth but baby's safety comes first!
