Is it normal to have one so close to due date?

Yup if there unsure of the weight as they might request you have a c section. Do not let it worry you hon they might also be checking water ammount. Ask them why your having one.

It depends on the circumstances, because I had a previous small baby, I get a growth scan every month after 28 weeks, so 28, 32, 36 AND 40 which is my due time. So yes it can be normal if they need to monitor you or suspect the baby may be big or small
