GRRR kind of OT - people cancelling at last minute

I was meant to have a couple of visitors this afternoon. Friend A who I went to High School with and have met up with a few times recently, and friend B who we hung round with but I haven't seen in about 9 years. We organised the visit around friend B's schedule as she's hard to get to commit to anything, and set it up for today despite the fact I've had acupuncture this morning and am a bit sore.

Now friend A has been fab and set up the visit as I'm stuck at home on my own a lot and thought it would cheer me up so she organised to collect friend B from her house and drive her to my place about 40 mins away.

I texted them both this morning and friend B had texted friend A yesterday to cancel and said she would let me know. She didn't. So I've bought lunch/ stuff to make cakes for us and she sin't coming.

The reason she's cancelled is fair enough - she's been offered some full time work and can't turn it down, but surely she could have let me know more than an hour before she was due to arrive?! I texted her and she's just replied to say she can't come, friend A is still coming so I've still made lunch/ baked cakes etc, but given the option I would have moved it to another day as today wasn't really the best timing for me.

Just a bit because it's nice to have visitors I was looking forward to it, and am still looking forward to seeing friend A but am a tad annoyed at B for lack of notice. Grrrr!

I know what you mean, I have one friend who will be there constantly and the other friend who expects us to be there for her but is always cancelling on us! We were supposed to meet up after my 12 week scan so I could share my news (don't want to do it over the phone) but so far she's cancelled twice I'm bursting to tell them and I'm supposed to be meeting her Thursday, and if she cancels again she'll be getting a very stern phonecall.
It's very disappointing when you're looking forward to a catch up, I understand your frustration.
