 soo, i am going to go and get checked out for any STI's, i feel terrible, because, i trust my partner...or atleast when i think of him cheating, it dosent make me crazy like it used to, but he comes home smelling of perfume, so im going to ask for a test, will they do it when im this far gone through pregnancy? im only having it done INCASE i have something, the thought of passing something on to baby during delvery makes me sick...am i being OTT you think?imagine he found out id had the test done, i dont know what to do?thanks in advance :flower:

I am sorry you are having to go through this. I think you are making a good decision to be tested. You are worried about LO and LO health is important and I respect you for that. I would imagine doctors could test this far along. You definitely should tell your doctor/midwife of your concerns. Better safe than sorry. OH should understand. I hope things work out that you get a clean bill of health:winkwink:

Also he wouldn't have to find out unless you had something then he might need to be treated but then that would be his fault. GUM clinics wouldn't write in your maternity notes :) Really hope he has been faithful

If you feel like you need the test doing, then you have it done. Your child and your health and safety are far more important than him having a hissy fit.

If he comes home smelling of perfume, I would be asking serious questions and telling him quite frankly that I would be getting the test and if anything showed up from it, heaven help him

Good luck xxx

As long as it isn't just a walk in clinic, they have no reason to refuse you.

Be careful with the results. I went for a full swab in May (GP surgery) and I came back positive for chlamydia, so OH went for one and he came back negative. I asked for another swab at a GUM and I came back negative (without taking antibiotics).

If he questions it, tell him that you had to have one done for medical/birthing reasons.

WHATTTT???thats terrible!!!that would have split us up for sure, for the results to be WRONG!Shocking!

Thanks everyone, i would be very surprised if i had annything, infaact devastated, but ye, better safe than sorry isnt it. i dont know what the perfume is all about:/ hmmmm
im not looking forward to the dirty looks when i walk in :o

If anyone gives you a dirty look, ignore them. You're doing what is best for your child and this is a situation you didn't choose.

I think in those places anyway, most people keep their heads down anyway.

Good luck xxx

We wasn't mad with each other but I was questioning it to begin with: As we split in March for a few weeks and he was going on 'dates' with another person for distraction.

Only thing we're having trouble with now is thrush :dohh: Another excuse which you could use, or say you need an internal.

yea i suppose so, when we first got togethor, i had a test, because i knew he had been a busy boy before me, and he dosent know about that, but that was diferent, because i didnt REALLY know him, so yea, if ive got anything, i will be so upset, and if i havent i will be soooo guilty, lose lose situation, except for the baby i guess haha!im pretty sure i wont have anything :)

Don't feel guilty about it. You're just putting your baby first. The perfume thing is enough to make you suspicious. You're not over reacting by getting tested. I think you're being quite reasonable about it all.

do you think?im just making myself belive that its not perfume...i hope im right!

Well... I arrived at the gum clinic that day and the waiting time was about 3 hours, I shrugged it off And left, thinkin I was just being stupid, then today he has come home from work saying he's allergic to the washing powder as he has a rash in his pubic hair.??? I'm really quite worried... The washing powder is the same one we have been using for ages, what I'd I have got something and give it to the baby? I wish I had just gone for the test :( is it me or is there constant stresses in life?zx

:( Sorry

I've had rashes there a couple of times though, and it's never been anything.

Reminding my that I've been putting off going again, arg.

The bottom line is that you don't trust him and you have valid reasons for that. Think you should go back and get your tests even if you have to wait it will be worth it. you could even go first thing when it opens so you may not have to wait so long? Hope you will get the all clear but if he is playing away you will need to be careful. Good luck x

Id go back and get tested Hun - put you mind at rest before baby is born
