Gutted, stupid reason!

We just moved house and are really lucky that our next door neighbours are a lovely family with two young boys for Micah to play with... BUT their youngest is called Reuben!! This was our top choice for if we have another boy and now I feel it would be really weird to use it! It's a stupid thing to be upset about as we're not even expecting another yet and we may never have another boy, but.. WAHHHHHH!!

We're planning on staying put in this house at least until our family is all grown up and I'm hoping we'll be good friends with the neighbours so although it might seem silly, it has ruled it out for us. Sigh!!!!

About 3 months before I was pregnant my friend who was about to have her baby told me she was going to use the name I always loved. I was so gutted! (She didn't know)

In the end she never used that name
In the end I never used it either because I completely went off it and if I think of it now I think what was I thinking! I also wouldn't suit my LO either.

Aww that's a shame; I can understand why you would be upset about it.
I would still use the name though as things might change and you might not always live next to them. They could end up moving for example.

Aw no! I'd feel the same, I think it would take the shine off the name hearing it on another person on such a regular basis. They may move though (although obviously you don't want that since they're nice ), or you may go on to have 20 girls haha. I hope you find another boys name you love though just in case

Met two more Reubens in a local toddler group yesterday!! Must be a very popular name in our new area!!
