Had a sweep

Hi everyone, just thought I should report, I've had a sweep, 39 weeks +3 days, midwife said very favourable 3cm dilated and she touched the babies head. Fingers crossed may get to meet our baby this weekend, but then yet again may not.

What has everyone else experienced with having a sweep? I'm having constant back pains with the occasional tightening of my tummy but nothing major, just a case of waiting now x

With my first I had a sweep on the Tuesday, show came on Thursday, established labour started Friday, waters broken on the Saturday...

Good luck Hun. I had a sweep with my first on a Tuesday and it was very favourable like yours and I went in to labour on the Wednesday and my son at 2.58am on the thursday so fx cross it's happens for you quickly. I lost my mucus plug throughout the Thursday and the Wednesday xxx

Good luck! I had a sweep tuesday and nothing has come of it in terms of labour. I did dilate an extra centimeter and am now 50% effaced so had another sweep this morning, hoping I'll get into established labour before induction Monday!



I currently feel like my period is going to come, stabbing pains in my foof and 10-20 mins apart BH contractions but I've had those for 6 days now so not reading anything into it.

With my first child I had sweep on the Thurs afternoon...had constant back ache that night then was fine the next morning, that night (Fri) contractions started and i had my little boy Sat at 2:15pm x

Hope all goes the right direction for you now, am very jealous, they don't do a sweep here until 40+8 and then 40+10

They don't do one here til 41 weeks, but I know my midwife so she has done a sneaky one for me.

Don't think anything is going to come of this tbh, not had many pains and no sign of plug yet. Fingers crossed though something may start over night. I have cleaned the house from top to bottom just in case I go into labour lol least I know then I will come home to no mess x
