I am 12 weeks today and we had our nuchal translucency ultrasound scan this morning. We have one baby and there is a heartbeat - my DH said it sounded strong. BUT to our shock, they found that our unborn child has a cystic hygroma, which we are told is fluid underneath the skin at the back of the babies neck. They said there is a lot of fluid in the neck of my baby's measured 11 mm. The normal is 3mm. Apparently, the presence of cystic hygroma could mean Turner's Syndrome!!! We are going for CVS on Monday afternoon and we will get answers by Wednesday. But either way, it is not a good sign. I am devastated..... This is soooo hard.
