Halloween/Birthday Decoration Ideas???

well Aidens birthday is in a little over a week and i dont get to have him cause it falls on his dad's weekend, but as it turns out we would likely jst be coming home from hospital with little brother anyways... (makes me sad, that i dont get to be with my baby on his birthday)

but we are having his birthday party closer to the end of October so we can get in a routine after new LO gets here and gives me time to actually plan something... ad we decided to do a halloween themed little party....


kids, candy, presents, and costumes?! who wouldnt have fun?! lol but im looking for some ideas for decorations, that arent scary but still halloween-ish....??

i got really cute food ideas like "mummy" dogs (pigs n a blanket), "rotten apple cider" (sparkling apple juice with gummy worms, and things like that but any more ideas are appreciated!!

We are doing make your own taffy apple for Arianna's party. I am just getting a bag of apples and those caramel sheets, putting those on the apples with a stick and having different toppings that the older kids can put on their apple (candy, nuts, raisins, chocolate etc etc) . Cute idea!

Maybe see if you can get a couple decorative gourds or pumpkins and have a paint your own pumpkin table for some of the kids .

Games

You could put out a bowl of jam and one of rice crispies and put like little toys or sweeties in it that the kids have to bob for with their mouth (jam then rice crispies so they get messy ) thats what we do here when they are too young to really put their heads in water for apples..

Pin the tail on the cat, or nose on the skeleton (something like that)

You could hide toys in boxes/bowls of things like jelly and cover it so they can't see what it is when they grab for it..


Food

You could put like fake spiders or "scary" stuff in jelly.

Fairy cakes with spiders/pumpkins/skeletons on top.


Decoration

Strips of material/paper over the doors vertically

Fake cobwebs

You could leave stuff like witches hats lying around..


That is just some stuff that I have done/had/seen before. Don't know if it is any use!
