Hand warmers????

Hiya all!!

Im going to make hand warmers for everyone this year to save alot of money but i have read that some are made with ceramic pie weights and some are made with rice??

Does enyone have some advice as to what i can fill them with please??

I want them to last too!!

My grandma used to make them with wheat and a little bit of lavender essence to keep them smelling nice.

ETA my mum still has one she made for her about 10 years ago that's a long one for necks and backs (also great in winter!) so it definitely lasts. Doesnt smell of lavender anymore though!

taylor has a stuffed dog with wheat and lavender and we just put it in microwave for 2 mins
