I had a MMC in late June/ ealry July. I started spotting brown blood at 6 weeks and finally at 10 weeks was told that it wasn't growing and had a (failed) medical treatment, lots of blood and trauma.

I had my first period on 1st Aug so we tried again, resulting in a late period and a BFP early in September.

Been to the loo today and wiped brown. I was hysterical. I have calmed down now and I rang the doctor. I am booked in with the midwife on Wed anyway so they said just to go to the midwife and she will see if she can get me in for a scan over the next few days.

I am beside myself. I just hope so so much that this isn't happening again.

Brown blood is usually old blood, so try and relax until you see midwife. I had an m/c at 7-8 wks two years and in this pregnancy, had some brownish mucus at 7 weeks but all ok; had some brownish mucus at 11 wks but all ok; had some reddish blood (tender cervix) at 14 wks but all ok; so really, pls try not to worry too much. I'm now 16wks+4 and am very cautiously hopeful....

I take it one day at a time, it's not easy but try to relax a little.

best wishes

Thanks for replying.
I probably wouldn't be so worried if this wasn't how it started last time.
I hope we both have healthy pregnancies xxx

I know its so tough, but I had brown blood turning to red within a few days of both my mc, but I also had brown bleeding with both full term pregnancies and full fresh red quite a bit with my daughter. It doesn't always indicate that its something bad try to remember that, but I have been in your shoes and I know how very hard it is.

I had brown spotting with last 2 pg'cys that ended in mc but ive had it the same on this one at 6 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks and everything is fine, like everyone else said brown is old blood and as long as there are no cramps its quite normal and doesnt mean this one is ending - xxx

It's gone- and I hope it stays that way! At the midwife tomorrow morning so will see what she says then.

Thanks ladies, you're the best xxx

Brown blood isnt necessarily bad news hun but i understand that if that is how your mmc started last time you would be concerned. With my mmc i had no bleeding and i thought everything was fine until i woke at 5am on 19th march with a really bad nerve pain in my back and even though it went away i still felt something was wrong, we went to hospital where of course my mmc was discovered. Anyway the point im trying to make is that ive had that pain during this pregnancy and i cant even describe the panic i feel when it happens because of my last mmc but everything has been fine. So even though things might look the same these are completely different pregnancies so every symptom doesnt mean the same outcome. I hope my rambling has made some sort of sense. Gl tomorrow hun! x x x

Perfect sense, thanks so much. You made me smile, thank you xxxxx

laughing at my inability to explain what im trying to say????

will your midwife send you for a scan tomorrow?
