Last time I'd posted about my big boys weight he was having 5 x 7oz of milk. He started leaving an ounce or two on a couple of feeds. Now he's just not wanting it hardly. He's being a grazer having a bottle of an hour or two. He's only had 4 bottles today but I'm planning on waking him for a feed at 11ish as he had one last night and seemed to have slept better. Is that the right thing to do? If he doesn't wake baturally obviously. Why is he not drinking?

It's probably his age hun, my LO had dropped down to 3 bottles by 5 months and she's never finished a 6oz bottle.

I think the genral rule of thumb is as long as they are having over 12fl oz of milk a day it's fine :flower:

They just gave phases of funny drinking and eating. As long as he finishes the other bottles it sounds pretty normal.
I would not wake him at 11 though. If you want him to have another bottle, why not dreamfeed him?

he could be ready to drop a bottle hun, katie was only ever on 4 bottles a day from 3 months, then she dropped it to 3 at 5 months. have you tried spacing them out more? how often does he normally feed? xx

He normally goes roughly 3 hours. I didn't wake him, he woke at 4am at 4.30 he had 4 oz then slept till half 8!

Maybe try every 4 hours? When katie wasnt as interested after 3 hours i just changed it to 4hours and it was much better :) xx

Oliver nearly always goes 3-4 hours between feeds (still feeding on demand as i find he doesn't fuss), but only occassionally will he drain a whole bottle, he usually leaves 1 or 2 ounces. The way i see it is he's weight gain is on track and he hasn't veered from his percentile line, so i must be doing something right here. My hv seems to be happy with his progress
