We have been offered the flu jab through work but im 33 weeks pregnant and worried about any possible side effects of having this.
I have spoken to the doctor who said it was fine to have whilst pregnant but im still worried and not sure whether to have it or not.
Anyone had it whilst pregant?

I'm booked in to have it in 3 weeks. I had flu when I was pregnant the first time and it's not something I'm in any hurry to risk repeating :(

I had the jab in my first pregnancy and was fine, I'm due to get one in October and I'll be getting it then too. I got a leaflet as well with my appointment letter just explaining how it's safe in pregnancy etc I would much rather take the jab than not, especially since I have asthma. xxx

Is that the H1N1 vaccine??

I had that swine flu vaccine when I was pregnant with my first late 2009 - that was the time when every day someone else was dead with swine flu and all pregnant women were told to get it! I had no problems afterwards.

I was advised to get the flu jab this pregnancy too but after several attempts at my local docs, they didnt have the vaccine in whenever I asked, then I forgot all about it, so no, I havent had it.

If they had it in when I phoned up I would have had it done, though:flower:

It is highly recommended to get it especially if you a pregnant. Pregnant women are one of the high risk groups that really should get it. Already got mine :)

I had the jab last week, I don't think there is any need to be worried about it. I think its better than risking swine flu as it can be very dangerous whilst pregnant. If you are worried speak to your midwife. :flow: xx

This year's flu jab incorporates the swine flu vaccine.

i'm having mine 2 weeks today i had it just before got pregnant and was ill the next day but my son and husband had flu and were ill for 2 weeks and i was only ill for 24 hours so i'm having this one too i'd rather feel a little rough for 24 hours and have jab than catch flu and be ill for couple weeks and have to go through recovering from having baby and have flu x

had mine...my weird side effect was crazy insomnia..I felt sooo weird...it was horrible..otherwise just slight headache and tired feeling for a day or so... hubby got his Weds and was a lot worse off than me lol lol..

I am getting mine on Tuesday. I had it last year for first time as I have asthma and had no ill effects. I am concerned about it but feel getting flu would be far more of a risk.

i got it when i was like 6 weeks pregnant and it was fine xx

Had mine 2 weeks ago. Felt like death for a couple of days after, but that could have been since I had to get it the same day I was in for my progesterone injection... So that combined with hormones I guess made me feel not too well... It is a highly recommended shot to get...

i've had it for about a week now, the area was sore at first but now just looks like a bruise. hasnt effected me or baby from what i can tell so far :)

I had it today, really didnt want it, but mw really advised me to get it, the nurse said it was fine to have snd strongly recommended, she DARTED me with if haha, I'm sure she threw it from about a foot away, bug it didn't hurt one bit, I went shopping, and was violently sick, nothing else all day though, feel fine, and no Mark in my arm or tenderness. I think it's quite a big choice though, not knowing what's being injected into us :/

I got a letter through this morning telling me I have to go for it next weekend.

Actually, my arm is quite sore, nothing major though. X

I'm having mine on Monday. I'm asthmatic and have it every year. I've had flu and swine flu and was seriously ill and hospitalised each time, not fun. Had flu about 8 years ago, before I started getting the flu jabs, and it nearly killed me. Not taking any chances while pregnant!x
