I've been on a higher dose of Synthroid (150 mcg) since finding out I was pregnant at about 3.5 weeks. I had my TSH checked last week for the first time since I found out I was pregnant. My TSH has already jumped from less than 1.0 to 4.34!! I'm really worried about this. I am immediately going on a higher dose on Synthroid, of course, but am concerned it won't kick in right away. Everything I've read indicates that you should keep your TSH under 3.0 during pregnancy.

Anyone else with hypothyroidism have a TSH that jumped this high? If so, did you have any problems?

Thanks

Oh wow, I seriously just called my doctor before responding to this. I had my levels checked around 7 weeks and my levels were normal. My doctor did tell me to have my levels checked again around 12 weeks, so hopefully I can get in tomorrow. I'll check back here though...hopefully your doctor will moderate your levels soon. Best wishes!

Heya I've got hypothyroidism, I was on 200 mg when I got pregnant, my levels have stayed pretty consistant though not jumping above 1.5 or dipping below 0.2. Try not to worry to much, you have to have consistantly very high levels of TSH to damage the baby in any way xxx
