So at L&D yesterday i felt like there was somethig they werent telling me has anyone else felt the doctor wasnt telling you something? And i think it could be because the doctor that gave me the results was left out on something by he doctor that ordered the steroid injections at my office. Or maybe she was told and just was not allowed to tell me for other reasons. But i just get this feeling i wasnt being told something.

I'm pretty sure if it is something of importance, they have to tell you - but i've had that before, while being monitored. I could hear them talking about me behind the curtain, saying things like 'high BMI' 'previous PPH' 'ask the registrar' but they were just discussing over wether or not to give me a scan, and worked it out before discussing it with me. At the end of the day, as much as some of them are crap, with bad bedside manners etc, they are here to help us, so I wouldn't worry that they were holding anything important back from you xx

If Drs told us everything, we'd be bald and with weird stress marks all over our body due to the unneeded and added stress and anxiety. Its best not to worry about it.

This happened while I was in labour with DS. I was taken to a room that did not look nearly as nice as the rooms on tour and I often heard the nurses standing at my door and whispering about me. I was being constantly monitored when I had been told at the tour they didn't do that. The fetal heart rate reading dropped everytime I had a contraction and every nurse and the doctor told me the monitor was faulty and was reading my heart rate. It wasn't until I had progressed closer to actual delivery that I was told that my son was in distress and they were considering a c-section. And it wasn't until DS was safely here that they let us know I had been taken to the high-risk ward.

And you know, DH and I have agreed that we were glad they didn't tell us these things until it was necessary. It was so stressful and once we were told it was hard to keep the anxiety at bay. We at least were only kept in the dark for a couple of hours.

You're allowed to ask questions about your care so the next time you see them ask what you want and maybe they will tell you more. I'm sure they'll let you know what is going on when you really need to know. If they are withholding information it may be because they still only have a guess or a hunch and it could do more harm making you worry about something that may not be true anyways.

I understand but i like to know what i am facing simply because my anxiety spikes easily. With my youngest before we moved they didnt tell me about his possible kidney issues (they thought he had just one) after moving at my first scan is when i got this devestating news alone. (He has both just wouldnt roll for them to see it) then months after he was born i got a bill in the mail so when i called aboutbit as i knew nothing of it found that they did testing on his heart while i was pregnant due to abnormal heart rate. I was never informed and very angry. I guess i just like to know what i am facing head on because its actually less stressful.
