head engaged ?

hiya ladies , i went to midwife today an she has said an written on my notes baby is already 3/5 fifths engaged im only 31weeks tomo (sat ) ive just read on internet that each 5th means 1 week till birth an that i shouldnt be that engeaged till 37+weeks !!!!! what do u girls know on this subject ??? im a bit scared now ive already got my hospital bag packed an this is my 1st baby xxxx

Hi there.

I went to the midwife today too, and I was told that the head was engaged. I am just over 33wk, this is my 2nd baby so I kinda knew already (and my bump has dropped)

With my 1st baby he was engaged from 35wks and I went full term with him and had him on his due date.

I wouldn't worry too much as the baby can always move again this early. Im sure you'll be fine.

head engaging doesnt mean labour will happen in so many weeks.
amber got engaged at 34wks i went overdue.

MW told me that for your first baby the head engages early enough but this doesnt mean labour is immenent.. im 39 weeks and mw told me baby engages couple weeks ago
