Anyone know of any remedies to relieve headaches on pregnancy? I've had this one 4 days now and it hasn't eased once!

I have taken parcacetamol and it's not doing a thing! It's one of those ones that's right above the eye and right at the back of my head and I have a cold/cough too which really hurts my head everytime I cough or blow my nose. :-(

Anything I can do to relieve it??

I also feel very weak and been having tummy aches, stabby pains and keep waking up feeling sick in the night.

Don't know what's going on but feel poo. :-(

I'd have a trip to the drs hun, just incase. I do get bad headaches like this, but I take paracetamol and sleep, and they do ease.
xoxox

I am not in the 3rd tri yet, just looking for info and saw this, try getting some 4head strips to put on your head, can get them in chemists and maybe supermarkets, but they do help

Ive had a headache on and off for three days too :( Mine seems to ease up with paracetemol though. If painkillers aren't working then you should see a doctor or call your midwife xxx

Thanks ladies. Might try some forehead strips first. If its still there tomorrow may speak to MW. Don't know what the sickness is all about, I guess sometimes that comes with a headache.
Just trying to eat some things to give me some energy like bananas and grape loaf etc as feel so weak. Chasing around and entertaining a 2yr old isn't helping either lol!

Headaches and nausea could be related to possible blood pressure problems. I would definitely call your mw. :hugs:

What I usually do for a headache now is either have a hot bath (baths aren't so easy for me now, since I feel as big as a whale!) or run hot water over my hands or feet and put a cold cloth on my head. The hot on the rest of your body (or just hands or feet) will help draw the blood from your brain and the cold will help to constrict the vessels even more. This should help ease some of the pain.

2 weeks ago I was sick with a head cold and I got a terrible headache. Because of the sinus pressure I found that a hot shower really helped while I was in there. When I got out I put a heating pad on my feet and a cold compress on my head and also used saline spray for my sinuses. I found that helped.

Another trick a lady on here told me about was to get someone to press pressure points on the bottom of your feet at the base of all your toes (except your big toe). That really helped for me last time! I found that the pressure points by my small toes were really tender. I got DH to press the points and then I rested with the heating pad on my feet and the cold compress on my head and within an hour I was doing so much better.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all those tips I shall defo try them tonight.

I had my BP checked when I saw MW on Monday and it was spot on and always has been so I don't worry it's that.

I'm glad your bp is good :)

My sister ended up with pre-e right at the end of her pregnancy so I am super paranoid about it now.

I really hope you get some relief soon.

What your describing sounds like a migraine - pain over one eye, feeling sick, etc

I do get migraines but not when I'm pregnant it seems - obviously hormone related! Not sure what to advise you to do other than speak to your midwife/gp and find out what they advise. Normally I have to drink plenty fluids, take ibuprofen and then lie down in a dark room, hopefully to fall asleep, but as I've never had a severe one during pregnancy I'm not sure what would be the best thing, other than make sure your taking plenty of water to keep hydrated.

:hugs:

Right! I forgot that. Drinking lots of water is very important as well.

If I have a bad headache and lots of water and my other tricks don't work on their own I will have some coffee or something else with caffeine in it. Caffeine also constricts the vessels and will help take the extra blood from your brain.
