Since Saturday ive had a really bad headache, i had to take 1 paracetamol on saturday as the pain was so bad and one yesterday and its starting to get really sore again today, i really dont want to keep taking medication, im not one for headaches usually so wondered if its common in pregnancy? i know this is my second but my first is 5 now and i cant remember tbh, the pain is across my forehead, around and behind my eyes and in the temples so quite sore feels like my head is about to explode. I know high blood pressure can cause it but its usually on the low side a couple of weeks ago in hospital it was only 90/50

thanks

Yes, headaches are a symptom of pregnancy. I suffer with them at times too. But if you are worried or they become blinding get yourself checked by your dr/mw x

Yep, they are one of my symptoms unfortunately. I never really get them when not pregnant, unless there is wine involved!:haha: I've been getting them a few times a week for the past 3 months...boo! They are caused by hormones apparently, but I have a sneaking suspision mine are also being contributed to by sinuses as I'm kind of stuffed up a lot...another lovely symptom!

I find they are worse (or appear) when I'm dehydrated, so try drinking LOTS of water. Like 2.5 to 3 ltrs spaced out over the day. Other than that I don't really have any other advice, other than a call to your doctor to put your mind at ease.

thanks, i actually dont drink much fluid at all, find water hard to drink so will try that maybe im dehydrated, thank you x

Hi hun sorry to hear you're suffering! I've pretty much had a constant headache since I've been 8 weeks pregnant (not what you want to hear I guess but just being honest!) Drinking lots of fluids helps and you can take paracetemol :) I've found getting a microwaveable wheat pillow and then putting it around your neck can work wonders for helping to get rid of a bad headache :) Also try to notice trends of when you suffer with them. I suffer really bad migraines if I go anywhere near decaf coffee - strange but true! Hope you feel better soon hun X

I sympathise hon. :(

Headaches in pregnancy are often due to the hormone changes. I have had the odd killer headache during my period and now during this pregnancy. I find the best thing to do is have a nap (if possible), ensure you are drinking plenty of fluids and sniff olbas oil.
Other than that is paracetamol and patience I am afraid. x x

Hey, i had them constantly for several weeks around your stage, still get them but much more infrequently (thank fully).

Cold cloth, lots of water, paracetamol and ForeHead (the little menthol stick) as midwife said it was perfectly safe. worked wonders. I think mine may also have been worsened by lack of caffine, as I've gone off tea completely! so having the occassional Cola helps me.

:)
