last week my hv was on holiday which is obviously fair enough but during that week i was told i could phone either of the other hv's who work in the health centre if i needed any help so...

sophie dropped over a pound in weight
i needed a social worker- who they had arranged and hadnt given me number for
and..
sophie started throwing up blood.

i honestly must have phoned them a few times every day and left a message each day asking just for someone to phone me so i could get some advice.
and did anyone bother? NOPE.
i phoned yesterday AGAIN and left one answer phone message and one message at the reception as i still hadnt heard from her since she'd been back and i've still not heard from her today. i tried to phone a few times and it was either engaged or no-one answered.
what the hell? how difficult is it? i thought they were meant to be there for support and someone to help you with problems to do with your lo.
im really really annoyed. :growlmad:

did they not comment when they weighed her about her losing a lb? not sure why you need a social worker i guess i dont know your circumstances so cant really comment on that one x
vomiting blood thoughm if it was any of mine id of had them at the docs/out of hours

it was when she was at the neurologist they checked her weight to put her on the right meds dosage and its not really there job to deal with the weight side of things.
and about the vomiting blood i took her straight to a&e 30miles away who checked her temp and heart rate and sent her away- not impressed!
so i had tried to contact hv really as a last resort

I have still not heard from a health visitor sounds like there not worth much cop!!

apologies :dohh: i just assumed becasue you never said :dohh:
that'll teach me

anyway lol, i dont really have a lot to do with my HV, havent seen her since she stopped coming to the house

she had been keeping a close eye on sophie cause she's been really not well.
her development is very slow and she could never walk or things.
the chances are she will also have severe brain damage and learning difficulties.
she needs extra care just now and help from hv really.
im so worried about the weight thing and she could've helped me with her having a bug cause i dunno what to do.
im just annoyed sorry and yeh i have a bad habit of assuming people have read previous posts or my journal so my posts are too vague sometimes. sorry!

(((((hugs)))))
i have just read it now hun i think you are incredible, dont know how you cope x

scottishgal i dont get the HV much either and alex is at risk of similar developmental issues like your LO. Its pathetic, some of them!
