I had spotting this morning, so my doctor ordered a stat ultrasound and repeat hCG levels every other day for the rest of the week.

By my LMP, I am 5+6, but the tech said my little bean was measuring 6+0. Its heart rate was 151 BPM. This seems extremely high to me for such a young gestational age. A normal heart rate at 6 weeks is 90 - 110 BPM.

Has anyone else's little one had such a high heart rate at such an early age? I was relieved at first because I saw a heartbeat, but now I'm concerned because it seems so abnormally high.

My last pregnancy heart rate was 172 bpm at 7 weeks....I was worried too but she is a healthy, teething one year old now!
Don't stress baby is perfectly fine :).

My baby's heat rate was 188 at 9 weeks. Know it was not as early as 6 weeks but by comparison, 188 is pretty high for 9 weeks.

A strong heartbeat is never a bad sign i'd say :winkwink:

155 at 6 weeks and 188 at 8 weeks. She's currently napping on me lol

Thanks, ladies. Glad to read some similar experiences. I am waiting at my OB's office now to discuss the results.

The average heart rate at 6 weeks is around 110bpm but fetal heart rates go up and down just like our own heart rates do. It would be a lot more concerning if your embryo's heart didn't accelerate in response to an ultrasound probe pushing against your uterus.
