I was finally able to make a video, lol. We only recorded the sound so there is no actual footage. But really the sound is all I need. I swear this helps me feel at ease...sometimes.

that sounds so cool i love it. i cant wait til i hear mine in 2 weeks

It is an amazing sound. I was scared I wouldn't know what I was listening for, but you know as soon as you hear it. LOL

yeah totally lol i seen mine on u/s at 8.5 wks. 12 wks seems so far away but im already 10+1 and it seems to be going pretty quick. im looking forward to hearing it!

Ohh thats so exciting! My appt is today at 2 and we get to hear the babys heartbeat for the first time :) at 7 weeks we saw the heartbeat at 140....what was your babies heart rate at 11 weeks?

The monitor I don't think was correct because although we could hear it the baby kept moving so we didn't get a proper reading. The first time I found LO was the strongest reading and it was at 154.

Well I am really hoping they can find it today quick because I am already a nervous wreck!lol I worry too much about everything!Congrats on your blessing!

I found it laying down on my left side.
Once your Dr. finds it though and you have an idea of where the lo is then you should have no problem finding it after that if you plan on getting a doppler. :)

It sounds too slow to be baby I think hun. I worked it out to be 89 bpm, and I think babies is normally between 120-180 at around ur stage? Sorry to be a downer, just I thought is heard our los, and it sounded like that, but it was me! Baby should sound like a galloping horse or chugging train? When I did hear it for the first time I wouldn't believe how fast it was. Where are you listening? Are u really low down, by the pubic bone? X x

I thought so too, but my husbands cousin is a nurse and she was pretty positive that it was the baby. I plan on getting my doppler so I will check again and see if I hear the difference.

I also have an irregular heartbeat, which is another reason we didn't think it was mine.

Sorry but I thought the same that deffo sounds like your heart beat not babies x

I agree, the beats sounds like yours. Babys will sound like horses or a train. I thought mine was babys heartbeat before, and finally found it. There are so many places you can pick up your own heartbeat in your belly, it really takes some digging to find babys. Just try a little more, and more around in angles, sometimes It was hard finding him, cause he would be close to my heartbeat and I couldnt get his.

Yeah, that's not baby. That sounds more like an artery to me, sorry. :( When I first got my doppler I found this pretty easily and wanted to believe it was fetal, but once you hear your baby's actual HB for the first time it's unmistakable thereafter.

Here's a clip of mine at 10 weeks, just so you can compare: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/31391/babyb/heartbeat-10w0d.wav

Really? I'm surprised she thought that tbh. Obviously I'm not a medical expert (luckily for the general public! :haha:) but I counted the beats a few times, and it came out at approx 89- 92 bpm. Definitely too slow to be baby! This is what ur listening for... https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?deskt...e.com/watch?v=7w9wChEPIu0&v=7w9wChEPIu0&gl=GB

Try yourself! Try really low down, with loads of gel. Just go slowly across and rotate the doppler. Not sure about ur irregular heartbeat, but iMO that's too slow to be baby. But its amazing when u do find It urself the first time! Good luck, let us know how u get on!

Are you sure thats the babies heart beat. I think it might be a little too slow, possibly yours??

We will have to see then. I will try again next time I go there to use her doppler.

It's easy to think you have the baby's..there are arteries your doppler can pick up on..the baby's hb sounds different and fast! You'll know when you get it!!! Does your Doppler display bpm??

Yes it did. The first time I found it I read it at 154. So who knows. Now that I do hear the others though mine is slow.

I will try and go over there sometime this weekend and try again. If not we will just record it when we go to the Dr. office this Monday. :)

Thanks girls.
