Does anyone else believe this?
i am crippled yet again with heartburn, but my midwife gives me gaviscon... i hate the stuff! its not the taste, its actually the texture. dont like the chalky type sweet ones only ones if found are the chewable remmigel, but the are not as effective.
help please! anyone?!?!?! suggestions of what to do to get this under control!

lmao funny i said that the other day! i have heartburn constantly 24.7 its pretty bad, feels like ive always got a kind blockage in my throat chest area and wen i burp it kinda bring acid up and burns omg (tmi) its a nightmare! i constanly eat gavasone!! X

Oh I hate heartburn! I always have it with my pregnancies, and it doesn't matter what I eat or drink - could be water, I still get heartburn! I have been eating Tums but I can't stand the taste nor the metallic aftertaste. I wish I could drink milk because some people say that helps them.

As for the hairy baby legend, I used to wonder if it were true, because both of my boys were born with a full head of hair. But my DH said that his ex-wife had terrible heartburn with both of their boys, and the boys were born bald. So much for that theory! :dohh:

One girl I know told me she took Prevacid, but I've not looked into it to see if it's actually safe for pregnancy.

I had never had heartburn before the other day and i thought I was having a heart attack it hurt and burned so bad. I haven't really had it too much thankfully but I always heard the heartburn means a lot of hair and if you eat a lot of spicey food it means curly hair. lol...well I ate chocolate frosty's with my daughter and she has really curly hair but with this one I'm craving SALT and hot food like jalapenos and hot salsa. I'm interested to see how he'll turn out!

Hi,
I suffer from it terribly aswell :( even drinking water can start it off & sometimes im curled up in pain with it.
Rennies dont work for me anymore so although it tastes disgusting i drink gaviscon followed by a few mouthfuls of milk & that seems to work. I also make sure im sitting down when i eat (instead of leaning on the side  ) & stay upright for at least 30mins after ive eaten.

Fwiw i had it with my other 2 & not only did they both have full heads of hair even their backs were hairy when newborn :laugh2:

i had terrible heartburn with ds it was so bad it woke me up during the night and he only had a tiny bit of hair. Im already getting it a bit in the evenings and not even 15 weeks yet!

I'm not sure how true it is, I know my mum had terrible heartburn on me and my sisters, and we were all bor with a full head of thick hair, but then so was my daughter, and Ive never had any heartburn in any pregnancy, both my boys were pretty bald tho :haha:

It might be too much rich food in your diet?? My friend had really bad heartburn when she was pregnant and her boys r gorgeous and not hairy monkeys at all lolol

i had horrific heartburn when i was pregnant with Ben, he was born bald and his hair only just came through about a month ago!

I don't think hair and heartburn having anything to do with each other. I didn't have heartburn with my first pregnancy, but my 2nd and this one has been awful. My 2nd daughter hardly had any hair at all LOL I think the heartburn may have burned it off LOL I just called my Dr yesterday because I am eating the maximum 10 tums per day and its still not enough. She said to try Pepcid AC Regular Strength. I got some last night and have had much less heartburn. Also, remember too many tums will cause kidney stones. Those hurt a lot worse than the heartburn.

milk makes it worse for me : (
its just sooo bloody annoying that at work i have to go running for my bag to get the good old bottle of horrid gaviscon out, lol.
it did get really bad the other day because my hubby gave me a tummy bug... so because i couldnt eat anything at all with out being ill, my tummy was in bits, then i was getting kicked under starvation protest, so i just couldnt bloody win.
baby has found it likes macdonalds though.... fries dipped in strawberry milkshake.. mmmmmmmmmmmm, dont get heartburn from that! but dont think it would be a good stable diet, lol

Apparently there is anti nausea additives in Mcdonalds because its so rubbish that we would be sick without it. That is probably why we all love it so much!

My mom only had heartburn with my little brothers, and neither one of them are hairy -- they are the only two (out of 7) who came out with ginger hair though. :haha:

Just a thought ... Have you tried drinking milk after eating? That can sometimes help with heartburn. I have been quite lucky so far and not really had heartburn ... YET ... But have had it before pregnancy and milk helped then - I too HATE gaviscon!

Just an update for you ladies suffering with heartburn. After my 2nd dose of pepcid, I am on day 2 of taking it and haven't had any heartburn at all for 24 hours. I am a bit queezy but its nice not having it burn every time I burp

My heartburn didnt' kick in last time untill Leo was in the head down position, and it was awful! he had a lot of head hair but not sure if that was the cause!

Currently 13+4 and nothing yet!

i found a glass of cold milk helped lots :( i had it constant but mya was born with a little bit of hair
