I would really love to have a flower name for a little girl such as Lilly, Rose or Daisy but husband just will not play ball!!!!!He keeps saying these names are old fashioned and it makes me cross!!!!!
so the only names that we can decided a truce upon are Heidi or Niamh.
If we chose Heidi she would be Heidi-Lou but can't decide a middle name for Niamh, any ideas?
Can anyone convince my husband that Daisy Lou would be a much cuter name?!

My daughter is called niamh emily :)
I love the name niamh but sooooo may people get it wrong and call her all sorts of names which really upsets me she rarely gets called niamh but it is becoming more popular so hopefully people with start saying it right lol!! She gets called neeme or mnearmie, nimph :( all sorts!

I love both of these names.Hubby also loves Heidi, but we can't have it as our surnmae also starts with an H and it sounds like a porn star name or something heehee!!

Niamh is lovely also. I think that you need a 2 syllable middle name maybe?

How abou Heidi Niamh?!

xxx

I like Heidi :)
I'm one of those people that has no idea how to say Niamh.. (luckily I've never had to!) could someone enlighten me? Haha x

What dont u get??? i think that is pretty rude to be honest!
Niamh is pronnounced neeve and Niamh is the correct way to spell it, look in any baby name book!

I love flower names too. Im obviously a liitle biase but i do love Daisy :flower:. Niamh is cute tho . xx

hey i'm not being rude i'm just saying i don't get it... get as in understand.. i wasn't talking to you anyway i was talking to the OP and I have nothing against the name but it's spelt completely different to how it's prounced so i don't get does the parent like the spelling or do they like the pronunciation? or both? because i could say i like the spelling of jack but i liked the pronounciation james so i'll call my baby jack but pronounce it james! it just confuses me!

eek i wasn't trying to start a riot the op asked for opinions and that was mine! sorry to offend anybody who is offended by me not understanding the name!

Maybe you should of tried wording it differently coz u obviously have offended a few people!!
Thats like me saying winegums why.... i dont get it????????

lol but if people said they didnt get my name i would just explain i wouldnt start saying omg why are you saying that, again was just giving the op an opinion.

Niamh is irish is it not?...it is spelt that way because of its origins.
My dd is called Eilidh [aylay] It is the Scots gaelic way of spelling it.
Maybe what you dont get is the spelling of it, rather than the name so there is the explanation!

Theres lots of names that are spelt differently to how they are prounounced - because they are Welsh, Gaelic etc etc - nothing confusing about that. Siobhan is another example - and its a beautiful name with a beautiful spelling just like Niamh is.

I like Daisy Lou better too:flower:
Tell your husband flower names are fashionable again!O:)

Of the two selected, I prefer Heidi.
