Hello folks. I have been lurking and reading for a few weeks so thought I should introduce myself.
I am 8 weeks pregnant with our first baby. Both my husband and I are 37 and it's taken us four and a half long long years to conceive. I had a laproscopy two years ago to have ovarian and fallopian cysts removed and a range of other tests including an HSG (which hurt like HELL!). Baby is due on our fifth wedding anniversary on 5th May 2012.
I am overweight and so was desperately trying to lose weight in order to have IVF on the NHS. I had also booked to see a private consultant. But it happened naturally in the end!
I am very very worried about losing this baby after the length of time it took us to fall pregnant. The 12 week scan cannot come quickly enough and time is draaaaaaaaagging!
So that's it really. We are cautiously excited about the baby and have told family and close friends. I cannot wait until we can tell everyone else and feel safe enough to actually buy stuff.
