Hi,

I've had odd cramps on and off throughout pregancy but they usually only last for a few hours or so or maybe an afternoon or an evening.

But I've had one sided cramps now for 2 days almost non stop. Feels like period cramps. I've had no bleeding or spotting and I can still feel movements and heard heartbeat on doppler yesterday and this morning.

I just don't know what it could be and I'm getting worried now.

I rang 24 hour maternity advice line and they just said as long as there is no bleeding that it's probably just growing pains but I've never felt it like this before, it's kind of knocking me sick a bit if that makes sense.

I'm really worried after having 3 m/c's that if I don't go and see someone that it might be too late and something could go wrong.

The side that I'm getting the cramps also seems to be a bit larger than the other side of stomach it like slants upwards and gets odd twinges.

Can anyone offer advice? Docs is closed.

When I put my hand on where I have the pain I can feel my stomach gurglig and popping away. Maybe it's nothing to do with the baby and could be to do with bowel movements or something?

It probably is just growing pains. I still had them very badly at same stage as you. One day mine were so bad (period type pain) i was convinced something awful was happening. However - i suggest you defo see someone GP or midwife on monday morning to get examined and put your mind at rest. If you really think you need to see someone before this then do. You know your body best. Don't worry about wasting their time. It is better to be safe than sorry. xxxxx

It sounds like round ligament pain / stretching to me. I have this on and off. Its quite painful and takes you breath away on occasion.

Does it ease off when you sit still?? and get worse when standing / moving??

I too have had three losses so know what it is like to feel paranoid.

It could be trapped wind then. That can also be quite painful!

When I'm layed down it feels a little better but when I'm sitting up it feels a bit worse. It seems to be better when moving around than when sitting still

It could well be your stomach / bowel if it's gurgling. I've had a bit of an upset stomach a couple of times in the last few weeks and have had cramping which feels like period pains. As soon as I went to the toilet a few times it cleared up (sorry, TMI!). Plus, sometimes I get terrible wind and feel very bloated, but once it's passed the pain goes away.

If you're really worried maybe call your local hospital or NHS direct as worrying may make a stomach ache worse, hope this helps x

I've just had beans on toast for dinner so that might sort me out lol, will keep you updated. Cheers ladies, gonna put my feet up and relax this afti

get your water tested you may have a urine infection.
I thought i had caught a bug but after 2 days of constant really bad cramping i called the out of hours docs and they had me up and i have a urine infection. this infection as knocked me sick. I was being sick for 12 hours yesterday and couldnt keep anything down. Urine infections can be very painful and can really make you unwell. Its worth just having your sample checked xx

Hi Swanny,

I have had this on and off for a couple of days and I am around the same time as you. I think maybe it is to do with bowels as I tried to go to the loo earlier and it was pretty uncomfortable! I have never been constipated in my life so had no idea what this feels like but now I feel like I am going to explode and keep getting cramps/pains in my tum.

Just googled remedies you can use in pregnancy and they reckon fybogel or senekot is ok so off to the chemist I go!

Hope you start feeling better xx

Hi,

Just thought I'd update that cramps went yesterday evening. The beans must have done the trick lol. I think it was down to stretching pains and trapped wind combo.

Just checked on little baba and heartbeat is there nice and strong so going to try to relax now.
