help - LO is bored!

LO goes to nursery full time so he is used to being around children all day. I have a long break from work for xmas so he's been at home for a week aprox and it seems ge is getting bored! All my friends with children are away at the moment and we have no family around so it is just the 3 of us
It's getting really cold so if we go out it's just to softplays but we've done that almost everyday! I'm trying to make new games/activities with him, but he plays for a bit and then gets upset

Can you dry up some play station stuff?

Things like:

- A tray of flour he can squiggle his fingers in
- bowl of water to splash
- bottles filled with rice/pasta/beans to shake
- play dough
- crayons and a load of paper or aqua doodle
- bowl of cooked spaghetti to squish

If you bundle him up warm he'll still enjoy running around the garden or park even if it's cold.

He's nearly 3 so a good fort will keep him occupied. I set out my boys toys differently every night ready for the morning. Today we have duplo and the colouring things out. After dinner will puzzles. Todays movie .. Brave lol

Forts, train sets and if all else fails run a bath and let him splash with all his toys

We visit lots of National Trust places. LO loves exploring the gardens and houses, we have lunch there or in a pub and it takes up most of the day. We also visit museums!

I'm a mean mummy as I largely refuse to go to 'kids' places like soft play - he does that sort of thing with his childminders.

I've tried most of the above and it doesn't seem to entertain him long.
I think what I need is something new and more challenging maybe?

Maybe try some crafts...... New year is coming up. Maybe get some pens and ribbon and make a 'happy new year' banner. Or get him involved in cooking/baking....Earl and i made jelly foe tomorrow before he went to bed lol. Or go on a nature walk and collect leaves to make pictures.

I once made a bran tub affair with rice and a colander and put in plastic animal to seive out lol. If you have ant chocolate coins left from Christmas that could work too.
