Help me help a friend

I have a friend who has a good chance of being pregnant. she has had a missed period and several other early pregnancy symptoms, but all her test keep coming up negitive. We were just wondering how many people who have babies or are pregnant didnt have there pregnancy detected by a home test and had to have a blood test done.

If the period has only just been missed the pregnancy hormone may not be strong enough to be detected on the HPT, the only way to know for sure is to wait it out a few more days if her period is only just late and test again or if it's a week or so late then a blood test would be the only other option. Sorry i can't help any more, my tests all showed positive straightaway, although the cheaper tests showed a clearer result.

It depends on how late she is etc... Its pretty rare to be very late and not get a positive on a home test but it does happen
I've known a few people who had all the symptoms and were not pregnanty though. She should get a blood test, though sometimes they refuse until your period is 2 weeks late. She can call now to make an appointment though since it can take a week or more to get in to see someone.

Me! I had missed 2 periods and had 3 negative pregnancy tests, I went to the docs and done a test from there and it was positive.

I have had two things quite like this! The first is my daughter lol! Every test me and OH bought would come up negative and we then didn't know we were expecting until I was already 12-13 weeks gone.
The second thing, is quite odd. I had a phantom pregnancy. I went to the doctors and everyone was baffled too, I hadn't had a period for like 4 months, I was starting to 'show' and I had all these pregnancy symptoms but no test or blood test I had done said positive. This went of for literally like 4 months and then one day I woke up and it was all gone, no bump, no symptoms, nothing. It was so weird!!
I think she should get a blood test just incase though! xx
