Couple of other thoughts~ I go back to my fertility specialist tomorrow afternoon .. so I am going to ASK THIS QUESTION!!!! See what a reproductive specialist has to say about it.

Also~ I am TOTALLY going to use my Clearblue Fertlity Monitor next month. I bought it before I got preggo in January- brand new- sitting in my drawer. I forgot to take it out in time this month as you have to start using it within 5 days of AF and I missed it by a day... so we'll see what the monitor says too as peak/high days for fertility!

ACK! this question is driving me nuts! My physical symptoms contradict it all too! SILLINESS! lol

Iv just found this huni, which is what I thought :hugs:

Once you see a positive response (indicating the LH surge) you can expect ovulation to occur within 36 hours (with most women ovulating within 12 to 24 hours). If

Thanks :) That would mean I most likely ovulated Wed. nite which I suppose would make sense with it being negative Thursday morning! I *HOPE* that's the case! :)

Hmmmm. Well I'm going with those charts as then I'm all covered if we DTD tomorrow and probably even if we don't manage it (I'm working late)!!
That would mean assuming my opk is negative in the morning that I ovulate today - which fits in with my cycle and generally makes more sense. If it's still positive I'll be confused and it's my last one so I'll never know for sure when it ends if that's the case!!
Please DO ask your fertility specialist - I am dying to hear it from an expert and be sure to tell us all EXACTLY what s/he says!!

And thanks for asking this - I'm so new to this I've been utterly baffled from the start!!

:hugs:

I saw a chart that showed O at the peak of the surge- I will try and find it... but that leads me to believe the release of the egg is what causes the Lh to drop? Am I wrong?

This would make sense. I think you're probably right. Google here I come....

that makes sense it builds up and then once the egg is out it starts to drop, then your temp shifts, I have brain ache now, need to go lie down in a dark room for a second.

Dont know about labour ward after all of this i'm going to need a padded room!!

Oh what a coffuddle

I am still none the wiser and even my ticker hasn't got a clue :dohh:

I got a positive Saturday at 7pm and it was negative on Sunday 9am so when did I ovulate?!?! I've also put in my ticker cycle that my CD1 was when the spotting started or my ticker would be even more off than the mark than it already is

I think I'm going to give up lol

XxX

Oh and please update to what your consultant suggests :)

Hiya Holly,

Did you ask your specialist????

He said it usually happens in a very short window within the same day.. and like Lyo said that by the time it's negative, ovulation has already usually happened as it takes time for us to see on an OPK.. plus everyone is different.

If I do an IUI for this next cycle- the minute I get a positive OPK- he is having me come in depending when I get it... if I get a + OPK, I go in late afternoon .. if I get a +OPK in the afternoon/evening, I call and go right in first thing in the morning... so I guess that definitely solidifies what the ideal time to get the sperm in there is!

That's good to know. So ideally DTD for a couple of days leading up to a + opk and then on the day as well. That measn I'm covered this month - not that that means anything mind!!!

Ah that is good to know for sure Holly. I think I must have ovulated on the day I got the positive then and not the day after as it was negative that night. So I could be actually 10 DPO instead of 9DPO.

Just in my opinion- you should try and BD the 3 days up to the the +, day of the +, and 2-3days after.. because it CAN be delayed in some women. If you're getting a +.. keep BD'ing until a day or 2 after it's negative just to cover all bases.

Good advice Holly, that's what iv been doing :hugs:
