Help me out - I'm not imagining the uneven leg/buttock creases, right?

2 midwives and a 'health visitor' nurse both say I am :growlmad:

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but I love her hams! :)

The lines of her fat rolls should match on both sides. The butt one is the worry. It can mean hip problems.

One buttcheeck line is higher than the other and doesn't go across as far.

Thanks for the nice comment :)!

Sorry I couldn't stop laughing : ) looks normal but your lo is going to love this when older Hehe x

I agree they look a teeny bit uneven but it could just be the angle?

To me she looks totally wonky! I've never seen a baby like this :(. Yes I agree, she wont appreciate the pics haha! She's got some chunky legs, my goodness.

They are uneven from any angle, one hip just doesn't seem to sit like the other.

Lol I know what your talking about I keep thinking my lo has uneven ones to! But I don't think they need to be identical just basically the same. Your lo looks fine! The hv I'm sure knows what she's looking for;)

cant hurt to do a quick check for hip dysplasia. there are leg motion maneuvers and us. id say talk to a real doc.. and i agree, they do look uneven. was she breech?

I would talk to a doctor if you're concerned. Do HVs check their hips? It's routine at well-child pediatrician appointments in the US.

Nope, head down from 19 weeks (I had lots of scans, gestational diabetes).

She's got immunisations today so I will ask the doctor. Just find it weird that no other medical professionals seem to see the uneven-ness. I've been asking since she was born, but this is her first doctors visit today.

Midwife checks hips several times (they see you until 6 weeks). HV just looked at her briefly. They more care about environment that baby is in.

Okay now I see what you mean, I wouldn't have given it any thought. It looks a smidge uneven but nothing that makes me go WOW!

I really wouldn't worry at all. But if you are really worried about it call her doctor :)

Looks uneven to me too. Hope you can get her checked over :)

I love her rolls, Thomas has never had them :(

Thank you for all the prompt replies. Maybe I am over thinking it. Thomas was always perfectly even, and I looked at a website with a baby that has an uneven butt like hers, that has hip displasia. I'm betting she's fine and just too fat!

I think I see it. The right leg seems uh, like maybe offset a little? Like that hip is a bit higher up towards the back? Is that what you're seeing?
Could be nothing really. Could just be uneven fat deposits and nothing else.
I wouldn't worry much unless it became prominent and really obvious. Give it time, even if it is sligtly off it may never affect her.

I'm pretty sure there's something off about my right hip, as my knee and ankle are also a bit off, like my whole leg is twisted a bit. My grandma used to harp on me because my right foot turned in slightly when I walked. She said people would make fun of me - uh, she's the only one who has EVER noticed or mentioned it - but it did get better in time, I don't think it does it much anymore. I crawled, walk and run just fine!

They are pretty even, that i wouldn't worry. Remember we all have one longer arm, one longer leg, one bigger eye, one bigger breast.

Just seen she has an appointment! Let us know what happens!

Your Thomas is a lovely boy. I've always liked him. My Thomas wasn't very roll-y either.

I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't have been pointed out to me so I wouldn't say it looks bad but I'm no expert! I'd definitely mention it to your doctor and get them to take you seriously and have a proper look! :flower:

I had slight hip dysplasia as a baby sorted with double nappies so my youngest was very thoroughly checked as he had very uneven thigh and leg creases indeed nothing matched up at all and he had like double the amount of creases on one leg than the other. However he was thoroughly checked out by several different health professionals and all was fine. His hips were never clicky or anything it was just the creases. When he started walking everything evened out and he has been the most steady on his feet and straight legged of all my boys. I think perhaps because he was in such an odd position in the womb and barely moved at all from 23 weeks to 38 weeks when he was born (he kicked but stayed in pretty much the same position) that may have had something to do with it? I hope all is ok with Sophie but if it is dysplasia it's better its sorted sooner rather than later xx

id def get it checked.. (i know you said you would =) ).. when caught early it is easily treated, when caught late it is surgical treatment. so well worth making sure it is nothing
