Hi guys.

I'm being a misery guts at the moment. Ever since I started BFing I've always focused on the negatives and this has caused resentment.

So this is a thread to discuss what you LOVE about breastfeeding.

I'll start us off:

- I love breastfeeding because I'm giving my baby the healthiest start in life.

- I love breastfeeding because it burns calories!

I love breastfeeding because it's a quiet bonding moment to share with my daughter.

I love breastfeeding because I am providing my baby the best start in life.

I love breastfeeding because I dont have to get up at night to make a bottle.. just pop him on the breast.. SO much easier. Unfortunately I have to suppliment which is making this 10 times harder.. now not only do i have to BF him, I have to make a bottle AND pump. :( sux

This is a nice thread :) I agree, so many times I focus on the negatives too...

Ok so I love it because I can do it anywhere, anytime and satisfy him quickly.

I love it too as I'd lost nearly all my pregnancy weight within the first week so it must burn calories!

I love breastfeeding because it's so good for him.
I love breastfeeding because it's so easy, I can go anywhere and his food is immediately available at any time.
I love breastfeeding because it burns calories. I haven't weighed this little in 20 years!
I love breastfeeding because when he makes little nom nom happy sounds while eating it melts my heart!

I love breastfeeding because its giving him the best start
I love breastfeeding because of the look in his eyes as he eats
I love breastfeeding because its helping me get some kind of shape back

I love beastfeeding because when he gasps from milk overload, pops off my boob, and stretches while smiling, it makes my day!

I love breastfeeding because I'm almost back to my pre-prego jeans in just 5 weeks.

I love breastfeeding because he is thriving and healthy (his ped asked if I have rocket fuel in my milk.)

I also love it because, selfishly, it gives me an advantage over everyone else. Only mommy can soothe the savage beast. :) Anyone can feed him formula, but boobie milk is a precious commodity!

I love breastfeeding as it gives me a lovely bond with my daughter.
I love breastfeeding as it gives my baby a great start in life.
I love breastfeeding as it is funny watching her hitting my boob whilst she is having her breakfast!

I love breastfeeding because I know DD is getting such healthy juice
I love breastfeeding as it's me and her time
I love breastfeeding because it give me quiet reflection time to think how lucky and blessed I am
I love breastfeeding as it's allowed me to eat like a horse and weigh less
I love breastfeeding because it's very easy when out and about - we always have food! It's so convenient
I love the fact DD launches herself at me with joy when she's hungry

Take heart - it gets easier - I think after about 10 weeks I stopped worrying, and things clicked into place. I never thought I'd find it easy, but I honestly do...and you will too :hugs:

i love breast feeding as know i am doing the best i can for her for such a short time its worth the effort, although i also feel a bit suffocated atm , sorry wasnt going to whinge but i need to

I want to add:
I love breastfeeding because I still haven't had a period
and
I love breastfeeding because he's still never had even the hint of a cold

i love bf cos i'm responsible for making her grow so smart
i love bf cos my daughter does
i love bf cos it makes night feeds easier
i love bf cos its cheaper
i love bf cos of the snuggles and smile
i love bf when she reaches out to touch my face when feeding
(i could go on but think that enough....!)

I love breastfeeding because I'm providing my daughter the best start in life.
I love breastfeeding because both my OH and I have had a terrible cold this week, yet my LO has remained cold free.
I love breastfeeding because its something that only I and my daughter share.
I love breastfeeding because my daughter loves it and thrives.
I love breastfeeding because I actually have a cleavage now!
I love breastfeeding because I don't have to mess around with bottles.
I love breastfeeding because I can feed her anywhere.
I love bresatfeeding because it saves money.

I love breastfeeding because my daughter loves it and smiles so much after a feed
i feel so proud to have been able to do this for my little girl, over a year down the line and it is just so easy now, I dread the day she stops, but that will be up to her.

i love breastfeeding because even though he's getting bigger and always on the go we still get cuddles
i love breastfeeding because there are few things cuter than the little smiles he tried to fight while hes drinking :cloud9:

I love breastfeeding because it's the best thing I can give my daughter.
I love breastfeeding because I can truly say because of me, she has grown so much :D
I love breastfeeding because well... my daughter loves boobie
Many more reasons, I just love knowing I'm doing everything I can :)

I love breastfeeding because it's fantastic for him.
I love breastfeeding because I'm the only one giving him his nutrients and food.
I love breastfeeding because it's free...and I'm cheap :D
I love breastfeeding because we get to cuddle all the time.
I love breastfeeding because he strokes my arm while feeding and trying to fight sleep during it. I love that and could seriously lay there all day.
I love breastfeeding also when he comes off from a feed and just sits there and talks and babbles to me with a huge grin.

I didn't think I would love breastfeeding so much but I really do :)

All the reasons above plus a silly one:

We got stuck in a lift when she was smaller, only for a minute or so til the door sorted itself out, but it made me think... I didn't have her bag with me (husband had it, I was just nipping to the car with her) and if I'd been bottle feeding and I'd got stuck for any length of time I'd have been screwed. As it was I could have just fed her and she would have been fine.

Also she loves it, and latches on the minute I get home from work with a big grin... it's such a great welcome home!
