Help... My 8 Month Old...

Wont sit down...

Oh my goodness, for the last 2 or 3 weeks, my back has been killing me, because all she wants to do is walk... I cant sit her on my lap for 2 seconds without her moanng and pushing herself out my arms to stand on the floor.

She constantly wants to run around (holding my hands) all day, and its pretty tiring. I cant wait till she can walk alone. She used to think she was great when she would just sit and play, but now thats not good enough, she isnt happy until she is standing. Dont get me wrong, I would do it all day if I could!

I do have a Walker for her, but I dont like to use it all the time, and even then, she still wants out and to walk on her own.

Any ideas what to do? Or should I keep encouranging her to learn to balance so she can hurry up and walk unaided? Lol, her balance is almost there, but she still leans on my hands a little when she walks too fast!

Note... She actually cries her little heart out when I sit her down without her "permission"... eek!

I don't have any advice to offer, but I do have a similar problem - except it is worse as I have two of them...

One of my twins is exactly the same, in that he won't sit unless you really really try and persuade him and have a very interesting toy. Even then he only sits for about 2 mins and then wants to get up again. It is so nice to see him standing and walking as he is so happy and has a huge grin on his face, but I just can't do it all day - especially as I have his twin to deal with, who also likes standing.

So your not alone... and I would love to hear any solutions/suggestions

id love to say it gets easier but hasnt as dd not quite walkin still but wont be long! she wouldnt go in walker always fell out!!! she wanted out that much! maybe try a walker as in a push along one? x

ahh yes, I did consider that. I may have to try, although I can see her falling on her face every 2 seconds hehe. But I will deffo think about it

well i got the vtech one and dd just started playin with the front now she does push it along a bit, sometimes she falls but she just gets back up! i think dd was only just crawlin at 8 months so u have a very clever girl! x

Lol, she is clever, but she doesnt crawl, and I dont think she will crawl, not before she walks. She hate hate hates being on her front lol. I dont think her arms are particularly strong yet, although she seems to have the strength to pull her whole weight up to standing in her cot without bending her legs... Lol!
