My oldest DD is 5 1/2 years. I can't decide on which to get her for Christmas. She is a very smart kid so I'm sure she'll be able to figure them both out with no problems and she does pretty good taking care of her things. I just don't know if it would be worth the extra for the DSi. Anyone have any advice?

My son has a DS and he desperately wants a DSi because it does more and has a camera on it or something, he's going to get one for his 6th birthday so personally I would get her the DSi now. xx

I was noticing the price isn't that much different, especially with all the black Friday deals goin on now.

I would get dsi my son is 3 and is getting a ds but only cause he's heavy handed and I doubt it will last long we've been through 4 ds already

Now I have another question. Thinking we were going to get her a DS I bought a few DS games. Can she play DS games in the DSi or should I return them?

DS Games and DSi games are exactly the same, you don't buy separate ones for each, so the games you have will be fine. :)

the only snag with a DSi is that you are able to "chat" to people. my neighbour found her son chatting to some random person!!! and she hasnt found a way to disable this facility. so please be careful.

Although she is very smart I would hope that she's not quite with it enough to learn how to chat [-o< but thanks for the heads up. Is there internet access on those or something. I'm completely clueless :dohh:

I don't think there is 'normal' internet access so she wouldn't be able to surf the web etc. But you can connect up to other people through wi-fi to play games against each other and chat etc.....
