We are having a hard time chooseing a middle name for our lil' man.

My DH is totally in love with Harrison and I have started to warm up to it so I think his fist name will be Harrison but I am torn about the middle name.
I wanted his middle name to represent my side of the family in some way.

Jonathan is a variation of my father & grand-father's name John ( I am not in love with the name john so I picked Jonathan)

Edward is the madian name of my beloved grandmother who passed away three years ago ( and also this lil' guy is due around her birthday)

Roy is my maiden name, DH suggested it but I am not in love with the idea.

Our last name is Numan ( it is pronounced New-man ) so I want to be sure it suits

Please help !

I like Harrison Edward as it is a lovely gesture to your grandmother!

best wishes

ps. We are probably going with Finn Matthew -- Matthew is a definite for my FIL who died in 2010....

a lot of it depends on your surname too is it Numan like your bnb name?

I'm not big on surnames as first names though but like Harry as a name. In the UK John is also known as Jack maybe that gives you the grandfather option?

Harry Jack Numan - sounds OK to me!!

We will be calling him Harry as a nickname but Harry seems kinda kiddy like and I want something that he can grow into as he gets older.
I love the name Jack ( it was a top pick for me as a first name) but DH was adopted as a infant and his birth name was Jack. He was removed from his mother for neglect so in no way wants to honor that part of his life.
I looked at other " John" names like Ian but I didn't really like any of them.

I had an Uncle Harry so I always associate Harry with being an older name!

Dreadful story re your hubby maybe anther angle would be honouring the name Jack by showing what he (Jack) was able to over come and how Jack is now a strong wonderful father himself despite what he endured.

i love harrison edward... i think it rolls off the tongue beautifully and sounds very distinguished. and the tribute to your grandmother is wonderful.

Omg I love you!! Came across this thread to vote and then read this post and bam!! My husband and I really wanted to have a meaning to our little boys middle name. We were thinking John because its my FIL first name but also my OH and my dad's middle name but I really don't like the name John! But then you came along and suggest Jack which I love and it will still have the sentimental meaning! Thankyou! :hugs: xx
