Hey i have been told by my specialist that it seems i don't release eggs. I have lazy ovaries apparently. However due to my bmi being over 30 i am u able to have any help until my bmi is under this.
I am currently losing weight (49 lb down) but i was wondering if any if you have been in the same situation. Or if you have tried herbal things to help ovulation?

Thanks in advance x

You may wish to try soy isoflavones, they are taken like clomid on certain days of the cycle and are known to help ovulation.

Thank you. Where would i get these from? Have you ever tried it?

I have a high bmi. Maybe 32-35 or so. I'm pretty short so that doesn't help. I look only like I'm slightly over weight, but oh well. I used vitex. I have PCOS so don't ovulate. Within 2 weeks it made me ovulate and brought AF. I conceived the next cycle. Can't recommend it enough!

I lost 40lbs over the summer and even that didn't make me O.

I think its terrible that just cause we not what they class as a healthy bmi we have to put our lives in hold. How does vitex work? I may have to try it. AF us due soon so will hopefully be able to use as soon as i get them

I took 1600mg/day in the am before any food. They say it absorbs better on an empty stomach. And waited an hour before eating. FX it works for you

Firstly, congrats on the weight loss so far! :)

Like some of the others I would definitely recommend Vitex (or Agnus Castus as it is called on my bottle from Holland & Barrett). After my mc I had quite long cycles and taking the AC helped to shorten them and make my positive opk's come much earlier in the cycle. I read somewhere to take them up until ovulation but know there are some people who take them throughout their cycle. Do you plan to use opks and/or temp as well?

Ive ordered some vitex. My cycles are really irregular and opks sjow no ovulation n gyno reckons i don't release eggs so im hoping it works. Yea i will be using opks again might not do temps as i work shifts and it was a right pain last time.
Sorry to hear about your mc. Are you still ttc or did you get a bfp?

It might take a little while, but fingers crossed the Vitex will work for you!

Thank you. This is our 8th month ttc since the mc and we are really hoping for a Christmas :bfp:

Keep us up to date with how you get on with the vitex :)

You want to take it everyday. It's a slow acting herb that takes time to build up in your system, so if you only take it for a certain amount of time then stop you're essentially starting over every time you take it because it doesn't have time to build up in your system.

Mm14 i hope you get your BFP extra special present from santa :)make sure you keep us informed ill jave my fingers crossed for you. im hoping with the help of vitex ill get a bfp march sometime lol. Got really painful af atm :(

Kylasbaby thank you for the advice i will take it everyday then. My 1st one is this morning.

Any of you that used vitex did it make you really emotional? Since being on it ive been super emotional. Just wondering if its a common side effect of them.

It didn't make me emotional, no. Could just be your hormones regulating though.
