I love old fashioned names and so far this one is standing out?

Mixed opinions from family though :(

What does everyone think of the name Hettie?

Surname will be fisher

I love it.

We discussed it, but it doesn't go with our other children's names.

I totally missed you're pregnant, congratulations x

I made a Hetty/Hettie thread recently! Mixed reactions on here but mostly positive. I absolutely love it and think we will be going with it. My thread was titled Hetty? But I prefer the spelling Hettie!

We haven't told anyone yet although I know my mum likes it as she gave me the idea!

ETA - one thing that was mentioned in my thread that I had been 'worrying' about was the name being the same as the vacuum cleaner (Henry and Hetty) somebody mentioned the name Hetty with reference to that the other day (not realising it was out girls name choice) and it made me doubt the name for a split second but I'm over it now! Our little boy is called Jarvis and the association with Jarvis Cocker doesn't really happen that much anymore and it was never really a big deal when it was anyway.

I think of this

I said on the other thread too my niece is Hettie Grace she's 6 and its a gorgeous name, really suits her as she's quite cheeky and sassy :) Everyone compliments them on her name and nobody's ever said anything like Hoover to her lol. You can think too hard about silly nicknames sometimes!

I do think of the Hoover (mainly because we have it- don't worry she wouldn't be named after my Hoover) but it doesn't really bother me I probably would even buy her a hetty Hoover teddy lol xx

I think it's nice if just Hettie. If you're going for the original variant of Hester I'm not a fan, but I do think Hettie is sweet xx

I like it but it does remind me of the hoover, I prefer Hattie :)
