heya ladies, needing some advice on a membrane sweep..

i have one today, so scared!
just wondering what i should expect soon after the sweep (if it works)
cramping? waters breaking? losing plug? etc..

also, how can you tell the difference between labour cramps and sweep cramps?

hi i had 1 last thursday and mine never worked im booked in for another tomorrow so we'll see, they are more uncomfortable than anything and only lasted about 30/40 seconds they sweep their fingers around the top of babies head and loosen all the gunk!!! i had mild cramping a couple of hours later and some bloody discharge but that was it for me, fingers crossed for you and me again tomorrow lol xxx

I had an unexpected one yesterday. I was scared but it wasn't that bad, just a bit uncomfy!

Nothing really happened yesterday but today I have a tiny amount of pinkinsh discharge, not sure if it is anything to get excited about though.. we shall see!

i just know i'm going to be spotting every little niggle all night lol..

does anyone know if anything makes they more effective? i've been told if your bodies simply not ready it wont work.

i'm only 5 dys overdue but due to complications they want him out soon, so it it doesn't work i'll be induced which i really don't want

Sex helps it lol.

Mine worked wihtin the 48 window slot.

Was done at 11am, fine all day, odd bit of blood/pinky mucus.
11pm that night, bang contractions started, they got to point i had to breathe through them and continued throught the night, i thought i was going have to wake OH to take me to hospital, 6am came i was shattered so tired to sleep, woke up at 8am was fine, lol.

Had a bath that morning went out did loads of walking got a chips & curry. Odd contractions from 7pm till 10pm.
Sex had 10pm, contractions started at 10:40pm. In hospital at 2am. Hollie arrived 7:37am

butterbaby...when do they start giving membrane sweeps in birmingham? jus wanted to know wat the policy is close to home.. thanks x

I had a failed one the day before yesterday (they couldn't reach). I had a bloody show yesterday morning and lots of brown mucus all day yesterday. Since then I've just had lots of clear, gel like gunk come out. Been getting a few BHs that I could feel (a wee bit crampy) but nothing too exciting. xx
