hi,
I am 32 years old, i have 4 beautiful children, and a big past of miscarriages, i was 18yo when i had an interuterine death at 25 weeks, i then had a miscarriage in between my next 3 children. before i had my youngest child i had a miscarriage followed by an eptopic. it took me a year to get pregnant with my daughter, than after her, iwe tried for another, after 2 years i got pregnant and suffered a blighted ovum, it has taken me another 12 months to get pregnant, and i am currently waiting to miscarry naturally
I was just wandering if i went to see my doctor would he consider putting me on clomid to help me concieve. Alot of people have said that he wont because i already have 4 children. but the first 3 are from my previous marriage and there is nothing more that me and my dh would love to have another child together. Has anyone had problems or been told no for clomid????

:hugs: It sounds like you've had a rough road.

Where are you at?

I'm not sure about docs in the UK, but here in the states you should be able to find a doc that can help you. Not sure if they would want to do clomid right away, or maybe do some testing to determine why you've had so many miscarriages.

So sorry, that's a lot of babies to loose. :hugs:

hi, thankyou for answering me.
yes i have had alot of bad luck with pregnancies, i am in uk,
i dont know what my doctor will say, my husband has said that it wouldnt hurt to ask the answer will either be yes or no.
i have even thought about buying clomid or femara over the internet but they come with risks so i am not to sure about it.

I wouldn't take the meds without talking to a doctor.

I've done both clomid and femara. Clomid thinned my lining and I had to take medication to counteract that. They both have bad side effects.

Have you ever had any testing done to determine why the miscarriages are happening?
Clomid or femara may get you pregnant, but it doesn't mean that you're less likely to miscarry. Maybe your doc can check and see if there are any immune issues going on with you?

i have read that just taking baby aspirin, and using pressed has helped people.
me and my husband are both on a pregnancy prenatal vitamins, and i have told him he is start doing things for himself sorry (tmi) during the week as he works away monday to friday. so then they will stay fresh and fightimg fit lol

Isn't clomid to help get you Ov'ing regular?
As you've had pregnancies it doesn't seem as if that's your problem. Your issues seem to be after conception has occurred.
I'd definitely ask your GP for a referral to a Fertility Specialist and have a good chat.

A GP won't usually prescribe Clomid, it's done through the FS and generally only if you are having problems with ovulation.

However, I would recommend seeing someone to determine why you have been so unlucky in the past. One thing to keep in mind though is they are reluctant to do treatments if one or both partners have children and if you have children together they are even more reluctant to do anything.

I wish you all the luck in the world.

Hi i'm in the UK aswell. i have had 3 mc 1 mmc and 2 natural mcs. i have been seeing my FS since january 2010 and only in september this year i was given Metformin. do you have regular cycles?

Clomid does help you ovulate but it could be that your not ovulating every month.

even tho i have been pregnant 3 times i still will be given clomid weather i had 4 kids or not its all about if u ovulate how long ur cycles are etc..

i would defo ask. you will prob be put through tests etc.. first.

have u been tested for PCOS? also taking Baby aspirin is best once ur pregnant as this will thin you blood to help the lining of your womb aswell as the placenta. i would just take you vitamins and have sex every other day until you appointment. its really hard and i know how u feel with MC i havent been though what you have been through but dont always say what it says on the net. cos some things dont apply to the UK only america.

i hope this helps

Becci xx
