High BP? Cervix Stretched? Induction?

At my doctor's visit yesterday, my blood pressure was high. It's been high now for about 4 weeks so they hooked me up to the monitor and did an internal exam. He told me that I'm a little dialated, though he didn't tell me how much. He said he could stick his finger through, but the baby isn't fully dropped yet. My cervix has been soft and thin for about 5 weeks now. The baby is doing absolutely fine, but he scheduled my next appointment 4 days away because he didn't want to wait a whole week. He said if my blood pressure is still high and depending on my next visit he may opt to induce me. I've really wanted to avoid being induced, but I am up for anything that keeps my baby safe and brings her here happy and healthy. I'm just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing or has gone through the same thing? Also, he stretched my cervix to "help me go into labor." It was painful, and since I've been having horrible contractions. I almost thought I was going into labor last night because of it. I've been losing more and more of my mucus plug since as well. I assume this is all normal, but I would love some feedback and input. Thanks, ladies.
