Just had the phone call I was dreading 1/5 chance of downs
Got to have Cvs (similar to amnio) in the morning
So scared...... :-(
I'm 39 but she said my results were all fine
Nt was 2.4mm
No bleeding
Bmi 20
Non smoker

Just don't understand x

Have you taken the MaterniT21 test? Its a noninvasive blood test done on you and it checks for Trisomy 21, 18 & 13. I'm having it done tomorrow but I chose to do this first and then if it comes back + then we will do the CVS because this test can rule out a lot of the errors made on the other tests. You are in my prayers and I just wanted to let you know that I know several people who were at high risk and everything turned out fine. :hugs:

I am so sorry you're going through this stress :hugs:

I know it will be impossible to relax this evening but do try. Hopefully your test tomorrow will give you a better more definitive result.

I had a scare at my 12wk scan with a high nuchal measurement. Let the docs do their thing and I will keep you in my thoughts :flower:

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Oh Jenna Im so sorry!!

sending lots of hugs :hugs:, im sure all will be fine with your LO :)

Good luck tmorrow with the procedure xxxx

I think you may have the Harmony test there which is a blood test. It isnt diagnostic like the amnio or cvs but it is extremely precise. I think it is 98% accurate. I would try that before a cvs if you can. If that returns as positive you can always have a cvs or amnio after.

Try exhausting your non invasive options first if you can.

:hugs: good luck!

Big :hugs: hun. My friend came back high risk but her amnio showed everything was fine. Keeping my fingers tightly crossed everything is ok xx

Hi all.
Thanks for all your kind words and support it really means a lot to me.
I only have a day or so left to have the cvs otherwise would need to wait another 2 weeks for an amnio.
No mention of any non invasive tests - will ask tomorrow at st Mary's

Thanks again :-( xxx

Hey sweety - sorry you're going through all this! Just some reassurance - same thing happened to my best friend. She was scared out of her wits, but all is fine!! It's probably impossible to relax but do try. the test was off for her--- she did the blood test as others have suggested - and her perfectly healthy baby is due in 2 weeks! Prayers for you!! You will be in my thoughts!

Yes good luck. We had the MaterniT21 test done and was like 99% accurate and we know the sex from it!

Just remember that 1 in 5 means an 80% chance that everything is fine! Good luck!

Hope everything goes well tomorrow. I also agree with pp, 80% chance everything is just fine! :hugs:

Oh you poor thing! I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know how stressful and upsetting it is because I was in that position less than a month ago. Nt was 2.6mm but my bloods were bad which gave me a risk of 1:20 at the age of 27. I had an amnio and it has come back clear, but I can honestly say it was the most awful 2 week weeks of my life waiting for the results so I know what you are feeling.

The babycentre website has an antenatal testing support forum which has many reassuring stories. https://community.babycenter.com/groups/a2895185/amniocentesis_support_information_group

Will keep you and baby in my thoughts xxxx

Hi Steph thanks for the message it seems more realistic when hearing others have been through the same awful ordeal also.
So glad everything turned out happy for you, fingers crossed mine will be the same outcome :)
Yes my nt seemed ok but be my bloods I'm going to ask for more info as midwife kept saying "everything looks fine" yesterday with my results.
Partner has a cystic fibrosis son I wonder if they bring that into the equation? Mmmmm maybe and my age being 39... I already have a 17 yr old daughter who was born 10 weeks prem. think they just can see me coming ha x

I became somewhat of a NT combined testing expert after my two weeks of non-stop googling and your age has definately pushed your odds up a lot, and its reassuring that your scan looked good. Definitely ask what put your odds up higher, mine was hcg of 5x the normal and papp-a low at 0.6 MoM.

Good luck on the CVS!

hope all goes well, just remember a 1 in 5 chance means a 4 in 5 chance everythings fine! best of luck xxx
