Hiya ladies.
For those who know your pregnancy is high risk, are you on extra appointments in 1st tri? And how are you doing :)

Hiya :)

I am not sure I would class myself as high risk (as my medical issue is stable and medicated) but I have an underactive thyroid and 2 previous losses because of it. It leaves me very anxious and scared but I hadn't been diagnosed then so I am FX hoping that all should go smoothly this time.

I have seen a consultant, an endo and the midwife so far, bloods taken and just going to be kept an eye on :)

I am doing well, anxious as to be expected just need to get past the 12 week hurdle!

How are you x

I tested positive last night (4w5d) and already started injections. My appointments start tues next week and they will be once a week for sono, my doctors and blood work every three to four days to make sure numbers are doubling like they should. The blood work slows after week 8 and the injections are until 9 weeks the appointment start to slow down at 12 weeks and pick back up at week 20. This is how my doctors have everything set up. The goal is to make it to 36 weeks so I'm praying so far I feel good. I have very bad back aches and on and off morning sickness but it's still early. :happydance:

I had to see the gp as soon as I got my bfp, had repeat betas done, a scan at 6 and 8 weeks. And have to see the midwife every week. But to be honest it helps calm my anxieties a little knowing everyone is looking after baby. Really won't feel I'm safe till I'm past 18 weeks, lost my angel daughter at 18+2. I'm 9+3 now so just keep thinking I'm half way there!

Type 2 diabetic here. Ive had 5 scans already. Seeing high risk every 4 weeks, and it will increase as I move along. My ob I'm seeing every week until I'm stabilized. Then of course more at the end.

Thanks for replying ladies! Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies :hugs:.
I've not seen my MW yet so I've not had any extra baby related appointments. I've seen my GP once and a cardio nurse just for a check up, it is reassuring to know everyone is on the ball.

I was high risk with my last three. I have not yet see my OB just my GP. But a request has been put in to see him. I am only 5 weeks 4 days, so I know it will come in time I am sure.

I'm high risk because my waters broke at 30 weeks with my first. I will start cervical ultrasounds and P17 shots around 16 weeks. I carried my second to term despite being hospitalized for a few days at 30 weeks for ptl. I am sure I will be a bit jumpy at the 30 week mark lol.

I was high fish with my first but not initially - upgraded after a lot of bleeding and pre term labour. Was in hospital for 5.5 weeks in the end as she stopped moving so was on the trace monitors.

I'm still waiting... I see the same doctor about the same time iBook in with MW but so far have had very little spotting this Time so am hoping it'll be a less stressful pg.

This is a good thread for me to read. I will be considered high risk my next pregnancy since I had a preemie. I will be TTC in June and right now just NTNP atm. I am scared, but this thread gives me a peace of mind.

I'm high risk because I am over 35 among other reasons. In July my beautiful darling Lil Joe was born. He had a condition called Pulmonary Atresia. Basically his heart didn't form right. As we were leaving to rush from the hospital he was born in, to the hospital they life flighted him to, my dr. mentioned in passing we shouldn't get pregnant again. I know the nurse mentioned that they could see the baby when they started the C-section so I'm not sure if my uterus was thin or if it had ruptured partially. Our son lived 19 days and passed away at home in my husbands arms while we waited for the ambulance to arrive.
So here we are 6 months later and my cycle has been a mess, oops, we are pregnant again. I go the 23rd for my first appt. with a fetal maternal specialist to see what's going to happen. I've heard really good and really bad stories about uterine rupture etc. so I'm terrified.

I am high risk because of Hashimotos. The ob won't see me until 8 weeks and my high risk ob hasn't got back to me. I'm really concerned because sites say my thyroid should have been tested as soon as I got the bfp.
