HIP grant?

Hi all

my MW forgot to give me my HIP form at 28 weeks, so i got it at 31weeks, sent it off straight away, and still havent heard a thing.....

how long does it take for it to come through?

also mat allowance hasnt come thru yet either, and that was meant to come thru 11 weeks before EDD. anyone>

the hip grant can take up to 4 weeks to go through , mine took three weeks, hopefully yours won't be taking too much longer, about the mat allowance, its probably worth giving them a ring and chasing up whats happening with that

My HIP came through very quickly. I had the money after about 8 working days, and the letter through the post the week after that.

Mine took just under 2 weeks I think, but I know it can vary quite alot. I'm sure you will get it soon...if not then give them a call, make sure they received it ok and perhaps they will able to give you an estimate of how long.

Mine came around 2wks after sending off the form, but the money was in my bank days before I got the letter through so check your bank balance just incase

I haven't heard back about my MA either... there was a thread not so long ago, apparently it can take a while to get sorted and then they back pay u what they owe xx

Mine took about 4 weeks in total! Don't know if thats just our area because a girl i work with also got hers about 3/4 weeks after sending it off!! x

mine came through in a week, the letter was a couple of days later. i dont know about the MA though.

eee really? imagine that they backdate it for like 3 / 4 months, ideal,! i can go house shopping even more

i've seen a load of kitchen stuff in PLUM from next that i want, but all of its gonna set me back about £200....and we've just bought new leather sofas and all new black appliances so we've just spent loads! be nice to have a great whack of money

My MW didn't have any of the forms at my 25 week check, so got it at the 28. The money went into my account really quickly- in about a week, but I didn't get the letter until a week after that

Just checked, my HIP just got paid into my bank. Took just a little bit over 2 weeks.

I sent my HIP Grant off the day I reached 25 weeks, got a letter yesterday dated '26th August' checked the same day and it'd gone in.

I didn't think you got maternity allowance until you start maternity leave: :s Isn't maternity allowance the same as SMP only you get it if you are unemployed or was not employed long enough to be able to claim SMP?
