Has anyone experienced this?? I'm just over 5 weeks and this is the third time it has happened. I'm only getting them on my face, usually my lips or eyes, like a food allergy (but I haven't eaten anything new). I'm wondering if pregnancy is making me extra sensitive to things or what!?!

Ugh, and just to rant...I live in an apartment in China and I can always smell the food my neighbours are cooking, for better or worse. Tonight it's a very fishy fish, and it seems like my heightened sense of smell has reached a new level because I'm gagging...if my face didn't look like a puffy, splotchy mess, I would get out of here until well after dinner! Lol, sorry for whining...I am still blissfully happy to be pregnant :haha:

Hi hon. You can develop an allergy at anytime to something that you've eaten for years. Pregnancy makes you prone to more allergies too, so I'd see your doctor. I'd also try to pinpoint what you're allergic to by eliminating foods and seeing if you stop getting hives.

RandaPanda I just wanted to say congrats! I remember chatting with you about progesterone cream and vitex in ttc and am so glad to see you here. I hope some of the things you tried helped you to your bfp and h&h 9 months to you!

just before i got my bfp i had the worst break out of hives/itching/allergy type symtoms. i took some anti-histimine and it sorted it straight away.

i have no idea what caused it but it did make me wonder if i might be pregnant because i never normally have allergies.

i think it makes us more sensitive.

Thanks ladies! Ya, I think it's just the pregnancy making me extra sensitive. I sometimes get random mild allergic reactions and have no idea what they are from, so I think pregnancy is just enhancing it...oh, joy. It's not just food, I think...the lotion I used yesterday did it, and then also a throw pillow that I fell asleep on made my face break out in them again. And I woke up in the middle of the night with a big one on my eye...so random. If they don't subside, I'll talk to my doctor when I'm back home in Canada in July.

Pandi! Thank you so much for your message and also your guidance about the progesterone cream :hugs: My big plan of supplements and progesterone cream worked on the very first month!!! Only a little longer left until your EDD! How are you feeling?

I feel pretty good all things considered RandaPanda and thank you for asking! I have a 4d scan Thursday which the hub and I are pretty excited about. Cannot wait to meet out little girl finally and start our family at last and yes the days are flying by :happydance:

It must be strange and exciting being in a foreign place while being pregnant! What an adventure you will be on and stories you will have to tell haha! I will watch your threads and look forward to updates :flower:
