A little introduction from a newbie. I'm a 28-years-old (wow...how did that happen? I was just in grade school a few years ago!) American living in the UK with my sexy English husband (he's old...34 ) and our 6-year-old daughter. Well I say 'our' daughter...he is not the biological father of my daughter...but has acted as her dad since we became engaged. We've been married for 1.5 years and we've had our fair share of ups and downs.
Expecting baby number 2 and super duper excited to find out we are having a boy!! We both secretly wanted a boy from the very beginning but we didn't want to get our hopes up so we didn't talk about it much. Anyway, we're due 28 July and I've decided to join a baby forum so I can chat with other mums who are going through this process also. I'm new to the UK (just moved here in October...yes, we got pregnant RIGHT AWAY...within 2 weeks of trying!) and interested in learning more about the birth/labour process here in the UK (it is VERY different to the US) amongst other things (such as natural child birth, cloth nappies, etc...trying to be more natural this time around). My unplanned pregnancy (and labor) with my daughter were absolutely horrible due to excessive morning sickness and high blood pressure...and I'm really excited to be going through a planned pregnancy that has so far (fingers crossed) been extremely 'normal' and healthy. I just got back from the consultant today and my blood pressure is borderline so I will have to take a couple of extra precautions to try to prevent it from raising. I'm excited and extremely grateful that I will be able to stay at home with this baby and bond more. Anyway...hoping to get to know you guys better and learn a lot more!!
