I just cut the fruit with almost like a hook at the bottom where he can get a better grip on it!

I also cut it in an odd shape - thinner in the middle so it doesn't slip straight through her hand, sort of like an old fashioned egg timer. I say cut, what usually happens is I cut it straight and nibble it around the middle before passing it over to her!.
