They all sound lovely - I've been to the lakes most recently, but all of the places at some point in my life - my family holidays as a child were this sort of thing but hubby and I went to the lakes last year.

Only thing these days if you're taking the dog is whether you'll be allowed on the beach with him(?) - a lot of places don't let you in summer anymore. Might be worth checking before you go cos, if your dog is anything like my childhood one, it will hate being near the beach and not being able to run around on it.

Hope you enjoy x

Just found some Pics I took of summerleaze in Bude, sorry they not very good...

cornwall I mainly know bude....Widemouth strickly off season dogs allowed, summerleaze again dog free in summer season, crooklets is a dog friendly beach as is Nothcott!

Thanks girls!

Star-dust - we absolutely love cornwall....so mch so we are re-locating to the south west in a year or so...hubby is hopefully going to Exeter/plymouth uni to do his degree. We are looking at St Ives as we did Padstow area last time. Having said that we still went to Tintagel, boscastle, mevagissey and a load of different beaches and coastel paths while we were there in November. We just think this is our last holiday together as just the two of us...we should go where WE want to go to!

I'd go to the lake district - it is so beautiful and peaceful - i haev been to coniston a couple of times and love it!! Good luck choosing x

If you've got the dog with you, Mawgan Porth just north of Newquay allows dogs on... it's the best one we've found for ours as there's a river running down the side of it where they can wander and get a drink. Great in the summer as we take it in turns to surf while the other one plays with the dogs / goes to the river / walks on the cliffs...
