has anybody had any luck with a home insemination? how is it different than an IUI?

you won't be able to wash the sperms first for one.

it seems more complicated too, like you must prevent air bubble in the syringe and u should orgasm and stuff

Home insemination is very simple - basically just get the sperm into vagina.

Suck up sperm into a plastic syringe and put it in like a tampon.

This is my 3rd pregnancy this way - you have just the same chance of conceiving as having sex - thats assuming there are no medical problems.

IUI is not something that you should do yourself - it should be done in a hospital/doctors etc.

Sorry, I didnt mean to confuse you......I meant that you insert the plastic syringe just in the same way as you would put in a tampon - gently, no need to force it or insert way up etc, and then you release the syringe - I wouldnt leave the syringe in there, although I have heard folk leave it in for 10mins or so. I would keep hips/bum up in air or prop a cushion underneath and lay up for 10 mins afterwards.

I have never used softcups but have heard folk use them, not sure if it would boost your chances but if you have been trying for a while with no success then I guess its worth a shot!

thanks Ellie! This is just my 3rd cycle TTC so I am going to try the softcups this round...just out of curiousity - you used the syringe to pick up the spermies from where? a cup I assume?

Suppose it depends where you are getting the stuff from......eg from OH or donation....

My OH would do it in a non-spermicidal condom and I would suck it up from in that.

We tried a cup first but found too much was wasted left-over around the inside of the cup

I hope this is still being read... I have a question. I've been trying this method (with a syringe)... I keep my legs up for about 30 min but when I stand, sometimes I get a big leakage! Is this ok? Did it still work, or am I doing something wrong? Any info would help! Thanks!
