If I have experience with sewing/ snaps ect.... Is it realistic to think I'd be able to make these on my own?

What types of material would I be needing and can anyone suggest a site to get info from?

Or would I be better off just buying some (any suggested brands)?

once you get the hang of it they are pretty straight forward to sew

Fabric choice depends on what type of nappy/diaper your wanting to make (fitted, pocket or AIO)

for a AIO you would need:

Elastic
Snaps or aplix
outer fabric - PUL if you can find some nice you like or you can go hidden PUL and cover with a fleece or polyester based material
inner fabric - something like microfleece is good as keeps baby's bum dry
Inbuilt soaker - a combination of bamboo & microfibre would work well
Polyester thread
Ballpoint needle
walking foot

HTH

It can be realistic but it can also be time consuming and wasteful. for example you might make a few nappies, take a few goes getting it right and then find its a bad fit for your baby.

the easiest way to do it would be find a nappy that works first then maybe base your own pattern on it.

materials you would need:
PUL - the waterproof bit or purchase separate wraps
a fleece or suedecloth inner
absorbent fabric like cotton terry/bamboo/hemp
then fastenings aplix or snap

the cheapest way to go cloth is flats/prefolds and wraps

Thanks ladies... Off to do some research now...
