I'm kind of leading on from the 'hairyness' thread that is knocking around somewhere...

I've got an appointment for next Saturday to have my legs, bikini line and tummy waxed. I used to get this done every 4 weeks before I got pregnant.

However, it's going to cost about £50, which could be better spent elsewhere, so... I'm seriously thinking about trying to do it myself

What do you think?!

I've been reading on another forum about how easy it is with that wax you heat up in the microwave. Has anyone any experience of this?

Seriously, Id get it done pro, did my bikini line the other day and was left wishing I'd gone to a salon, ever DH eyes watered at the sight of it lol. I dont think the home-use wax is as good as a salon formula.

Im gonna google the microwave stuff babe as Ive never heard of it.

I am terrible with my bikini line, lol! I can only tolerate my 'neat' landing strip and Im sick of being 'prickly' after shaving lol

Amazon have quite a few brands and reviews, might even give it a go myself!! x

Lol, its not too bad really, I enjoy it, its really addictive! It must purge me of something, just gotta find out what it is now

Aaarrrggghhhhh! I've had my eyebrows threaded a few times, and I didn't mind that but OMFG!!! I had my top lip done and it was the worst pain I have ever felt (and I've got piercings, tattoos, etc!) It was unbearable!

What tats and piercings you got? I have 2 tats, small ones and had a coupla piercings but had to take them out because of having lupus, same as the tatoos, want more but cant. Soooooooo addictive

I've got 4 tattoos; 1 on my shoulder, 1 on my hip, and 2 on my back. I had my bellybutton and nipple pierced too, but I took them both out recently.

Yes, you will have to let me know if you do it. I'm seriously contemplating it too. I'll keep you posted...

I had my belly and tongue pierced, they wouldnt heal though I have a tat on my shoulder and on the bottom of my back.

Super duper stuff, will look forward to watching DH pale when he sees the wax lmao! x

Waxing is nothing but MESS and PAIN!!! Don't do it yourself.... A while back I bought myself an epilator and it's so easy to use!!!! I do underneath and the bikini line with it. Same as waxing but without the mess!! Sure it hurts but at the end of the day its a much better alternative to self waxing!

I thought about getting an epilator. Im presuming they are safe during pregnancy, as its really not much different to waxing
